New October 2008 Releases

Post by GHQ »

Greetings,

Most of our October releases have been added to our website. Yes, the new pack of WWII German infantry is listed, and ready to be ordered. We just got our first ones out of the molds, so there isn't a photo yet, but we will add one on Oct. 29th. If you just can't wait, then get your order in now (many people have been requesting that we add them as soon as they are ready), and if you want to wait to see a photo, it will be there shortly. The Gazelle helicopter is the only new release not listed, and we will have the photo etched rotors for that early next week. Here are the October releases that have been added to our website:

G-525 WWII German Individual Infantry #2 $9.95

SUN-4 DD Leningrad $8.75

N-518 M1114 HMMWV $9.95
http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/n518.html

RC-11 Type 81 MLR $9.95
http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/rc11.html

GWS-3 BB Wyoming $13.50

Thanks for looking,
GHQ

Great!

I've had my order for the Aug & Oct warship releases in through my retailer for a month (plus several other packages); now they can send it in. The only problem is that now I have to wait 2 months for the next ships (if I remember right, the Texas/New York and one of the Kongos). Already looking forward to the '08 - '09 releases, even though we're not half way through the present release schedule.

If: Tanks = cars
Then: Mk 1 = Jay Leno

Because I have managed to collect a LOT of old classic tanks!

Although my tanks are smaller than Jay's cars. So maybe I'm a small scale Jay Leno? 8)

GHQ states that the only item missing is the Gazelle helo - what about the US WWII Diamond T Wrecker? I thought that that was also an October release?

That is correct. It is an absolutely beautiful model! The person who adds items to our website is on top of it, It will be added today. It was just an oversight by our forum administrator. Thanks for pointing that out.

German Infantry...pics...want...NOW!!!
I would have settled for a simple text description months ago.

:?

Then again, this nostalgic approach sort of takes us back to the 70s and 80s when we waited to see pics in mags or bought sight unseen. Heck, I'm probably going to avoid the web photos, buy a leisure suit, and send for a catalog via snail mail!

Ooooh!

The antici...

SAY IT!!!

pation!

:-)

with apologies to Frankenfruter...

But seriously, of all the mfgs at least GHQ posts photos of its products! I've never understood why others won't or can't meet GHQ's consistency in posting product photos, especially in the age of digital photos. It seems obvious from a business perspective and I appreciate the quality (and mere existence!) of GHQ's pics. Others should follow their lead.

Inf pics are up! Love the guy arming the potato masher! the officer is in a good pose, and the advancing fellow holding his rifle - looks like you can bend the arm around.
I like them - think will mix really well with the older one!

As the previous poster mentioned, and showed, the photos of the new German Infantry are up! Although this topic has been covered many times over the years, it may be worth going over it again. All of the photos that we show on our website are of production castings. They come from the exact same molds as the miniatures that we package and sell. These are not miniatures that come from hand molds, or anything that may give a slightly higher quality casting than those that we sell. We feel that it is better to show photos to our customers that are the same quality as those that they will be buying. We also know that we will sell more of any item that has a photo in the website listing. Please believe us when we say that we try to get items listed and the photos up as soon as humanly possible- it benefits us because we will sell more. Our new releases are always listed in our catalog as the 30th or 31st of the month. Over 90% of the time the new items are listed on our website with photos a week or so before the announced release date. Rarely do we miss having an item listed by our annouced release date. Sometimes we have the items ready well ahead of the release date, and when we do, we have a few of our customers who we send the items to and they paint the items that you see on our website. We like to do this because it exapnds the vairety of painting styles that you see, and it shows off what some of our customers can do. Unfortunately most of the time the release timeline does not allow us to do this. Typically the day that an item has been listed is one day after the final production molds are finished. So, on the German WWII Infantry Pack #2, the final production molds were completed on Thurdday Oct. 25th, we were able to cast and pack some, and the item was listed on Friday Oct. 26th. We were not able to have a photo ready until one day after, which unfortunately was three days because of the weekend.

We hope that this gives you a little more insight into how our production timeline works. In addition, typically the design work for an item is not completed until a couple months before the release date, so it is not possible to release items much earlier. We really do try to get the items up on the website, with photos, as soon as possible. There is rarely a period when we are sitting on things, holding them back, just waiting to release them.

Thanks,
GHQ

GHQ - thanks for the update but don't worry, we're not nagging :)

You should know by now that we're all like kids in a Willy Wonka chocolate factory salivating about the latest treats you've conjured up. We know you work your hardest to produce the goods and piccies as quickly as possible. It's appreciated, believe me.

Thanks,

Battler
