African Civillians

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows if GHQ are going to produce some African Civillians,they would complement the Bush Warriors and they also produce some other civillians Vietman and Mid East.

I've not seen it on any of GHQ's "to do list". So it seems that African civis are not foreseeable as yet. Sounds like a good thing to request. GHQ has stated several times that this forum is where they get ideas that eventually get put into production.

I e-mailed them with a request for middle eastern (PLO and Iraqi-stlye with head scarves) and African armed militias along the lines of their central Asian muj fighters. They acknowledged the request but I have no idea if it will go anywhere.

In terms of current and likely future belligerents it would seem these are obvious additions to their modern product line, but who knows.

Preiser makes a "Z" scale unpainted figure assortment that can be used for almost any location with some conversions using acrylic tube paint to make head scarves, etc... Here is a link: http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/590-88500

We use these figures all the time with the GHQ infantry since they are larger than the figures (crews, etc.) used with equipment. Note the refugees and animals in this photo.



There are 160 figures (including animals, etc...) in the box for $25 on sale... Not a bad price for the variety of items from kids to sheep, cows and horses.

I was wondering about making some partisans or "resistance" figures, good for rapresenting the irregular troops of WW2 period.
It could be possible to use them as russian, french, italian, polish, greek, and many others country partisans. They would fitt great as international brigades during the spanish civil war. They could fitt well also as red chinese against the japanese and the nationalists, or vietnamese, or afghan, etc..
Just dress them with a shirt, or a sheep jacket, a fur hat, a slout hat, a "french hat", and these troops will fit for any pre-WW2 period, and even further.

Hi, maybe sombody know, how many camels are in a TW11 pack? I want to know it, because i'd like to do mehari units in my italian units (they used camels).

Can't remember the number but they're not very useful for "domesticated" camels.

I didn't really think about it until I went to paint them but these models are really zoo camels since they lack any type of harness, cargo, etc. Essentially they're just camels roaming around instead of camles being used a pack animals.

You might be able to customize them with bits of putty. Otherwise they're useless from a wargame perspective (unless one is doing a camel hunting scenario?)

Maybe I should get some, to give a sense of scale to my pictures of camel spiders that I catch around the house so often these days.
