Let's get this back on track.

I would like to see GHQ produce a model of the M4A2/75 (Sherman III) of the type illustrated here:

http://www.o5m6.de/m4a2_75mm_early.html

I think that this has a lot of sales potential because of the large number of users of this particular variant:

1. the first 500 or so shermans shipped to the soviets from late 1942 till early 1943, and therefore the only shermans they had until shipments resumed in early 1944. Some of these older models were still in service at wars end.

2. USMC use beginning with Tarawa.

3. In the Med this variant equipped 6AD, 9AB, 2 Pol AB, 4 NZ AB. If you're at all interested in gaming UK/CW armour in Italy this was the most common vehicle.

4. This variant was original equipment for 5 of the 9 armoured regts that made up the 3 Free French DBs in NWE.

5. Of the 5 independent armoured bgdes that landed in Normandy with the UK and CDN forces this variant equipped 3 of them - 8AB, 27AB, and 2 CAB.

As a dedicated shermanophile this is a model that I would purchase in large numbers.

regards

Steve

Abso-friggin-lutely!!!

Scratch building the LAVs is becoming quite tiresome. 2 or 3 I don't mind, but 20+ is a bit much. And having some real modern contemporary infantry would be a godsend. We could also use modern infantry for US Army, USMC, France, Germany, UK, Russia, and China.

Tom, because I would invest/spend money on them. I would 'need' 30 of each, except the G-wagon, need perhaps 12-18. The 'financial controller' issue.

Paul, a lot of vehicles. Would you take some off my hands so my wife could clean out the garage and my room? At least wait until something happens...LOL.

Chris,

Sure, I can wait. I just hope for your wife's sake that you go before I do. I just redid my will and guess who is getting my 7,500 vehicles and 700 ships. There's still time for you to build that addition.

Wish List 2008-2009

Post by pmskaar »

Here is my short wish list for 2008-2009.

1. Pz IIIJ with short barrel. There were actually more of these produced than the long barrel version that GHQ has currently. I believe that the housing for the 50mm gun is different than the long version and this was produced in fairly large numbers with around 1500 of these produced.

2. Pz IVG. GHQ makes the F2 version but the G was produced in far greater numbers and is just different enough to warrant a model. There were only around 200 Pz IV F2's produced in comparison with over 1100 G's. An important mainstay of German panzer forces from mid 1942 through 1943 when the Pz IV H started being produced.

3. Mid production Tiger I. Right now GHQ makes the early version that has the Pfieffel air cleaners and the late version with all steel road wheels. Many of the early Tiger I's were not equipped with the Pfieffel air cleaners. I would like to see the version with rubber rimmed road wheels and no air cleaners. For even greater variety they could include 2 different turret types - the standard early drum cupola and the later style cupola.

4. A standard M4A3 Sherman. This would have the split hatch turret and the older 60 degree glacis. Most of the Shermans in pictures I have seen are this variety and not the later model currently offered by GHQ. This is a gap that needs to be filled. More Shermans such as the late M4A1 with revised mantlet and maybe even the M4 series as well would be welcome.

5. Israeli M-48. This year I got my wish and GHQ produced the revised M-48A3 for Vietnam. I'm not positive but many of the Israeli M-48's were M-48A2's which had less return rollers. I think generally more vehicles from the 1967 and 1973 wars would be nice as well as some Israeli infantry from that period.

6. Fill in the gaps for WWII infantry. Right now the British don't have the correct light mortar and I have no PIATs in the weapons packs. Also would be nice to see some Brits in the later style helmets. Germans need new 81mm and 120mm mortars as do all the major combatant mortars. The Russians need ATR's and some rifle infantry and maxim MG's with 2 man crews would be nice as well. Americans need MG's and Bazooka teams and maybe some new infantry poses as well.

I actually have realized some of my wishes over the past year with the M-48 and the early Sherman M4A1. Glad to see the new British armored cars as well. Keep up the good work GHQ.
