I am currently working on a mid-war Panzergrenadier Company riding in the Ausf D halftrack. I cracked open a new G107 Blister and noticed that the sides of the halftrack seem bowed out. I checked some older models and they looked straight. I checked my references ... straight sides. Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, is it fixable ie was it a one - time bad mold or has the master changed?!

I've had that "bowed out" problem with a few tank hulls. I took some of the packing sponge ( to prevent marring) along with small smooth jaw pliers to put it back in order You need to be gentle with it when compressing, stopping now and then to make sure you didn't press to far. I only tried that after contacting GHQ for replacements. I really didn't like the fact of doing this "procedure".
Ritter wrote:Thanks JB - I thought about that that but the cast are way too thick in that area. Were they able to replace your models?
Anyone have any of the new casts to compare to see if this is a cast flaw?

Yes, you know GHQ, they are excellent about such issues..
BTW the castings I had problems with wrer the hulls, the sides i.e. suspension system were all bowed out. I don't think it can get thicker than that.
