Painting guide web site
I had a site that I can't find now...
It showed step-by-step painting of various models - German, US, Soviet. The general technique was rime white, wash with base color, highlight etc. But I can't find the site now.
It's NOT microarmor.com or Braxen's great blog...
HELP!

Mark,
My site has some step by step tutorials and lots of galleries... please forgive me if I am vainly (and wrongly) suggesting that it's my site you're looking for
Hopefully the 6mm diehards can also forgive me as I've been dabbling a bit in 15mm again (you'll notice if you browse my site)

thanks,
Tanner

Take a bow Tanner, that's the very one I was looking for.
I had started two packs of Shermans and was using your tutorial. That was 3 or 4 months ago. I went to finish them and for the life of me couldn't remember what color I was using!

Tanner,
I was browsing through your site again... and as I saw a certain picture, I just had to add a caption... Sometimes, I just can't help myself...
I surely hope this does not offend, but rather, draws a chuckle from "y'all"
...

Regards,
Tom Stockton

Thanks for the compliments Troy
"and you haven't posted pics of these beautiful Shermans in the 'Show us Yer Stuff' thread because?!?"
To be honest, I'm not quite sure... I think it might have to do with the fact that my 3 crazy kids sometimes keep me from getting anything done. That, and I'm starting to become forgetful

Doug - It's been a few months since I painted them so I don't remember positively... but I'm 95% sure it's Vallejo US Dark Green (893). I did a white primer coat by airbrush followed by an undercoat of US Dark Green by airbrush as well. Then I did an black/brown oil wash followed by some light dry brushing using a mix of US Dark Green/White.
Cama - thanks for the compliments, glad my site was of use
Thanks!

Are you using the actual game color range for the airbrushing?Doug - It's been a few months since I painted them so I don't remember positively... but I'm 95% sure it's Vallejo US Dark Green (893). I have never been able to get that range to work through my airbrush at all. I've tried different thinners to thin it but no luck. Any tips as to what to use for them?
Aside from that, thanks for the information...I appreciate it. Also, you stuff is awesome. I've wondered onto your site, as well as others, for different tips on painting and modeling in this scale.

Doug,
I'm using the Model Color range, not the Model Air (airbrush specific). I've heard Model Air is the same paint just thinned with water so I've never tried them. I thin with distilled water at a ratio of about 2:1 (paint:water); I'm not using vallejo droppers for the water and the drops seem rather big so I would guess the real ratio is more like 1:1. I will say that I've had problems with clogging, it's just something I've learned to deal with I guess. I have some tamiya paint and it sprays really well through my airbrush but it is difficult to clean out when I'm done so I don't use it as often.
Thanks for the feedback
I hope this information is helpful.
