SQL Error

Post by Donald M. Scheef »

I am able to post new messages, but can not edit my existing postings. When I attempt to do so, I receive the following message:

error in deleting post
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error: 1016 Can't open file: 'phpbb_search_matchword. MYDE'. (errno: 145)
DELETE FROM phpbb_search_wordmatch WHERE post_id IN (25374)
Line: 419
File functions_search.php

I sent a notice to GHQ on Saturday about the SQL Error re-appearing on our forum. I have followed-up with a message this morning (Monday) linking the error messages specifically to the EDIT function.

I have provided the error messages to them in these communications. I expect they will resolve it shortly.

For others -- if you get the SQL Error message, please do NOT presume that your posting did not go through.

If you can, use your browser's BACK button to return to your posting, clip it, and save it in a temporary file. Check back on the forum in a few hours to see IF your posting appears. It often does.

This saves all of us from having to wade through 2, 3, or more duplicate postings as you work through your frustrations on the bite of the SQerL.

In this particular case, it seems that the EDIT function postings do not often go through. So you may indeed have to come back and edit the posting again. This is the reason I suggest saving your post to a temporary file. But still, please, give it a few hours after the SQerL bite before you re-post. Let's keep the duplicates down to a minimum while GHQ works it out.

Many tanks!
