Micronauts the Game - How do you use the Mission Table

Post by saxophone »

I'm reading section 22.0 Scenario Generation System. It's not clear to me how to use the Mission Table. The example on page 72 says that Russ is side A and draws the Ace of Diamonds. Russ's mission is Intercept (Small Convoy).

How do you get from drawing an Ace of Diamonds to the Intercept (Small Convoy) mission? The table is not clear in this respect.

Agree that the table is unclear; an example of my poor writing.
Here is what the table should generate:

Convoy Escort (small convoy) vs Intercept (small convoy) [A]
Convoy Escort (large escort) vs Intercept (large convoy/bombardment) [2]
Bombardment vs Intercept (large convoy/bombardment) [3]
Sea Control (surface) vs Sea Control (surface) [4]
Sea Control (air) vs Sea Control (air) [5]

So, drawing a three [3] would produce Bombardment vs Intercept (large convoy / bombardment). Hope this is clearer.

Thanks,

Several days after I posted my question, I eventually figured out how to read the table. I'm supposed to look for the black box that corresponds to the card drawn. Then I scan along the row of the black box to the leftmost column to get Side A's mission. I scan along the column of the black box to the topmost row to get Side B's mission. I got it now.
