Packaging

Does anyone have any advice on how to package and ship large numbers of miniatures? I ran out of cases and was wondering if anyone had any idea's...

Are we talking painted or unpainted? I assume painted.

Roll each in a strip of tissue paper. Put bunches into small boxes put those in big boxes. Or... carefully put them in a shallow box. Fill the box with puffed rice cereal (it must be snug when closed). Or...put them into boxes in layers with bubble wrap between each layer. The bubbles hold everything in place.

Yes... opinions sought. I'm about to move country, and for the first time I'm going to have to entrust SOMEONE ELSE with moving my toys. Whenever I've moved town, I've always done it. I've seen professional movers in action, and it scares me. TV: fine. Couch: fine. Tanks? No doubt they'll get trans-shipped at some point as well, which will be worse because I won't be there. The paint will be entertaining too. No doubt all those 14ml tins constitute hazardous chemicals.

the tissue paper method is OK, but doesn't provide enough support for the barrels and they can still get bent/broken. Try using corrugated cardboard and bend/glue/tape pieces on one side to provide support for the barrels then place a piece over the tops of the minis and tape everything together. Makes a nice, compact package. I have received minis from Av8rmongo this way and never had a bent/broken barrel.

Thanks for the props! When I saw the thread I was going to recommend this technique. I've moved, read the navy has moved me, four times since I've gotten serious about micro armor / micronauts. All those moves have been either trans continental or intercontinental and I have had very few problems. Most of mine are in bunker boxes or equivalent but the loose figs are always transported sandwiched between cardboard.

Thanks for the great idea's... I'll give it a try. Trying to sell and trade large amounts of micro armor but packaging is a bigger prolbem than I thought..
