[Apology up front - I found a dead horse and I want to beat it]

I just received my winter sale order - a buch of the new Cougar 6x6 MRAPs as well as some 4x4s and a pair of Buffalo, thanks GHQ. I also read their latest TACNEWS piece as it regards the Wehrmacht '47 line. They've retracted a bit from their original position by saying that they're not endorsing any specific alternate timeline but rather trying to facilitate a range of what-if situations. Okay, tha makes more sense to me. I don't think there is any plausible way to have created a 1947 where the US didn't play an active part in the war in Europe without backing up the clocks a couple of decades. The strategic war plans developed during the 30's were already formulating military thought around a Europe first mentality but enough of that.

Good luck GHQ hope this works out for you, maybe it will generate some venture capital to revitalize the modern micronaut range.

The tank you saw was the M-103 at what is now called 4ID museum. It was in service with the US Army and Marine Corps from 1957 to 1974.

Yeah it has been over 25 years since I read that placard. Can't believe I'm that old.

Lost interest in going there when I saw our red and wite checkard board water tower is now dirt brown. Bad move disbanding the 2AD.
I pray for Peace on Earth Good will toward men. Till then one round HE fire for Effect!

What about Cold War Nightmare Vehicles?

Post by RaccoonEmpire »

Since we can drag WW2 into 1947, why not look into those vehicles that could have appeared in the ultimate Cold War Nightmare...the war goes hot, WW3 breaks out, and those weird machines make an apperance.

Examples... the IS-4 heavy tank, the IS-7 heavy tank, and the one I really want( just so I watch the face of the other player...) the weird "Obiekt 279".
The IT-1 "Drakon" missile tank...can't do "Operation Dneper" without that!
How about both models of the wonderfully absurd "Kondensator" SP guns , I mean come on, the Karl Mortar of WW2 is covered. And since they are on the field, let's get the American "Atomic Anne" on the game board.
As for American weirdness, how about the very cool( it be a great SF vehicle) T92 light tank, and T95 medium tank.
For "latter" scenarios how about a "fielded version" of the MBT 70 and the uber-cool XM800 scout vehicle, the XR311 scout car( with recoiless, MG, or ATGM options), and the S-67 Blackhawk & the H-56 Cheyenne helicopers.
Also for the Soviets, they need the old backbone of their early helo forces, the Mi-4 "Hound'.

Then consider all the real vehicles that did make production and would be a must for a 1948-1970 WW3 scenario! I've posted some of those choices elsewhere on this forum ( like the before mentioned M-103 tank destroyer).
