Marines!
I would like to see more Modern USMC equipment, such as the new Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle, UH-1N (or Y), AH-1Z, M777 Light Howitzer, and maybe HMMWVs with snorkels. Some new infantry heavy weapons might be nice as well, such as Javelin, or SRAW. Of course I'd still like some old birds like the CH-46. Anyone else got some Marine equipment they'd like to see?

I'm not sure about more USMC stuff there isn't that many vehicles that are unique to the Corps that isn't also an Army vehicle.
I'm thinking of building a BLT (or MEU depending when you were in.) THe only thing stopping me is not wanting to paint that much infantry! The only combat elements I don't have are recon units in boonie hats & M16's those would cover SEALS and Marine Recon. As well as pro US insurgents as well as Vietnam SOG & SF.
There was a 4 wheeled Beach Master that is not produced that I saw when I was in. It was actually a Navy unit and would not show up till after a second or third wave. Looks cool but if you are not doing logistics (and most gamers don't) there is no reason to have them.

I too am building a MEU, but wish to build an even larger force, including the majority of 7th Marines, 1st Tanks, 3rd LAR, 3rd AAVs, 3/11, and several fixed and rotary wing squadrons. The volume of infantry is a little daunting, but I chose to play with a force comprised almost entirely of infantry. The good news is, I don't think I'll ever play a single game on a large enough scale that will require the modeling of an entire Regiment. I will need the stat sheets (already done!) for campaign play. I will be playing logistics, as the game I am playing here is a large campaign in which our skirmishes will be determined by the movement of forces on a Google Earth map, and it is the perfect dream for a LAR company to sweep right into some poor bastards supply line!

This is only partly true, as most of the things the Marines use that the Army has, are modified for the Marines. UH-1N has two engines, Army Huey did not. Now we have the UH-1Y with 4 rotors, new engines, bigger body and FLIR. I'd really like to see the CH-46s, but since they are being replaced and my campaign is modern and near future I can "settle" for the MV-22. I'll miss those old birds though.

One of the neat things about having a BLT is all of the scenarios that you can do. Embasy rescue and / or evacuation. Rescue a UN force attacked by insurgents, taking on the Sandanistas, throwing Cubans out of Grenada, Marines to Nigeria and so many more. I remember in the early 80's there was even some talk that the Marines would be sent to throw Castro out of Angola!
The Bush Warriors will work for rebels, Cubans, Russian. If I build my BLT not only do I have to paint all the USMC infantry but going to need tons of Bush Warriors.
Thinking of some of these possibilities does bring up a question.
Has anyone ever tried a GeoPolitical game? With people role playing policy makers and taking it down to a military game on the table? We played a division level game that created table top games from it, but never tried Pentagon level command.
If there is enough interest in discussing how to do this I'll start a thread on it so this one can keep this line of discussion.
With a Marine unit you can have a battalion level game that has the attention of Washington DC. Could be a blast or a bust.

The campaign we are playing is proving to be a logistical nightmare, and requires geopolitical gaming. It takes place in the area around Georgia and I need to get into the Black Sea with an ARG, but the damn Montreux convention pretty much prohibits my LHD from going through. So I may have lost most of my lift capabilities as well as close air support. I can get the LSD and LPD through, landing the majority of the MEU using AmTracks and the few choppers I will have. Of course I could just give Turkey the finger and tell them not to get in the way of the big boys.

Geopolitical games
Many years ago I ran a short campaign based on Cuba versus the United States. The initial event was a Cuban invasion of Trinidad and Tobago (two small islands off the coast of South America). The idea was after Grenada, Cuba still needed an airbase between Cuba and Angola. I had some out of town friends play the high commands for both sides. As far as i know, all the communications between the high command and the field commanders went through me.
Anyway, things went smoothly until the Americans suffered a bloody nose in one of the tactical engagements. The American high command went nuts and originally wanted to bomb Havanna. I had to overrule that, but the US Air Force did bomb the 'heck' out of Port of Spain. Good news for the Americans: They caught a Cuban armored brigade in the middle of off -loading. the bad news: to quote one of the American players " So much for any more cooperation from the locals".
