Raketenjagdpanzer SS 11

Post by redram »

Is there a reason, why the Raketenjagdpanzer SS11 (product code N45) isn´t produced like it catalog picture?
The cataolg picture shows the correct version of the tank.

But if You buy the pack N45 you get this:

This modell represents the Jaguar 1 prototyp, befor the spaced armour was added.
The roof is incorrect, because it shows the version with the HOT weapon system, instad of the SS11.

Are there two different moulds for the SS11equipped tank?
Anyone owns tanks like on the catalog picture?

Moin redram,

the problem is, the model of the Raketenjagdpanzer 2 is wrong. Even the catalog picture shows exactly the model you posted later (with the wrong roof, as you said correctly having the hatch arrangement of the later HOT equipped Raketenjagdpanzer 3), it is just not that clearly visible.

At last there seems to be only one mould, featuring the wrong roof :? ...

redram,

If you haven't discovered it yet here is an excellent resource for BW vehicles:

http://www.panzerbaer.de

and for the Raketenjagdpanzer specifically:

http://www.panzerbaer.de/types/bw_kanjgpz_90-b.htm

I have the GHQ versions and the CinC versions of these vehicles. When I get home I'll try to search for any photos I may have on my computer - most of the minis are in storage back in the states. There are no pictures for BW kit on the CinC website but I beleive the vehicle roofs are correct but again I'll have to check to see if I have any pics available.

I forgot, we did discuss this model some time ago but I am not able to find the old topic.

Kind regards,

I don´t think so..
I´ve magnified the cataolg picture, and it is clearly visible, that the roof differs from the model picture

There is no round comander coupola, just the 4 square hatches 2x driver and gunner, 2x for the weapons.

I've checked my picture files and I don't have the SS11 version. The ones I do have on hand have the correct roof layout. They were an ebay purchase I think so I don't know how old they might be. Couold it have been an error created when the original mold was updated? I guess only GHQ knows for sure.

As far as the CinC RakJPz 1 mentioned, here's a good close-up photo I found: http://www.odinartcollectables.com/imag ... akette.jpg

It looks bad compared to the GHQ, but at least the roof doesn't have the HOT cupola; the missiles appear to be HOT though, so the exact reverse of what's wrong with the GHQ model. While you can kitbash the GHQ SS-11 launchers with the CinC hulls to get that flat roof, the GHQ hull beats the CinC in every other detail

Problem solved!
GHQ´s answer was most enlightened!
It seems, that I bought some rare, misspacked bilster.
The model I own, is the N46 - Raketenpanzer - HOT version (out of production since 1983!!!).
I bought it at my local game store, who must have had it in store for a couple of years.
The package is labeled "N45" and does contain the correct SS11 missiles, but the wrong hull.
