GHQ Rules Line of Sight question

Post by WargameHub »

What is meant for the LOS modifier table when it says "blocks line of sight".

I'm leaving this generically vague since I have no idea which way to take it.

Blocks line of sight means that whatever the feature is, whether its a building, trees or such it makes it so that you cannot see your target and therefore you cannot shoot at it. Light buildings for example block Line of Sight so there for you cannot shoot at it directly, but can use Indirect Fire such as artillery...as long as you FO can see the target.

Hope that helps :)

A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at.

"Blocks Line of Sight" means means that the terrain feature "makes it so that you cannot makes it so that you cannot see your target and therefore you cannot shoot at it" as dougeagle describes. If the stand in question occupies an edge of the terrain feature, allowing it to shoot out of the terrain feature, it can also be shot at. However, there is a cohesion penalty for the firing stand when making the cohesion roll for firing at the stand occupying the edge of the blocking terrain. This die roll penalty is listed in the "FIRING UNIT COHESION & CRT DIE ROLL EFFECT" column of the Terrain Effects Chart. If the stand in this terrain has already fired that turn, ignore this cohesion die roll penalty. This die roll penalty also applies to the Combat Die Roll in all circumstances.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if there was just as a distance to go with it since the closed terrain has a limited sight of 10"
