GHQ does not make a model of the WWII Japanese destroyer Kagero class. The closest in the GHQ line are IJN5, Yugumo class, and IJN20, Asashio class. The Kagero class was generally similar to these classes except for minor detail changes. If you are interested in early-war appearances, either one of these will do.

The Kagero class (late-war appearance) is listed in the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List with nine votes. I will take your posting as vote number 10.

If you really must have a 1/2400 scale Kagero class now, you might consider CinC. They have two models of the Kagero class; one a '43 version with full anti-surface armement and the other a '45 version with anti-surface armement reduced in favor of increased light anti-aircraft armement. In general, CinC models are close to GHQ quality, but models from the two manufacturers don't look right together. GHQ tends to exaggerate major features (such as the size of gun barrels) while CinC tends to simplify (very thin gun barrels, no deck details, etc.)

Panzerschiffe makes a 1/2400 resin model of the Kagero. I don't have this particular model from them, but in general Panzerschiffe models are accurate in the major layout but lack details. They are OK for gaming purposes and stand up to rough handling but aren't display quality.

Thanks for the good tips. I'll get one of the GHQ products to keep consistent looks, I think. Since I'm chiefly interested in the Solomons campaign, early awr is fine for me.
