Then I looked at the photos.
These are some of the most regular irregulars I've ever seen. They must eat their fiber every morning.

Seriously, all of their kit is the same and their helmet style screams Soviet-bloc. They're clearly wearing uniforms. They look like any other regular GHQ army I already own.
I might buy some simply because I'm a sucker for modern 6mm figures. These will make outstanding generic regular troops (NOT irregular). Anyone buying these purely from a catalog listing WILL be disappointed.
I really do wish GHQ would spend some time filling the vaaaaast, gaping, chasm that prevents modern gamers from gaming, well, nearly every modern conflict fought in the last 20 years: the Irregular Infantry gap.
Essentially these should be ragtag modern civilians in street cloths and armed with a variety of small arms from rifles to LMGs to the ubiquitous RPG. In the middle east head gear is either nonexistent or maybe a keffiyeh. In Chechnya and the Balkans maybe winter headgear if any. Heck, make them generic and leave the head gear off and I'd still be happy.
Suggestion: use these same sculpts as a baseline sans helmets and backpacks. Make the "web gear" and footwear more random. That alone would be a great starting point for truly irregular troops.
