The ACW infantry in greatcoats will be an excellent addition, as no one else produces them in 10mm, and they are very useful and aesthetically pleasing models ... at first I thought that waiting a year would be painful, but then I looked at the pile of unpainted lead on my desk! ;)

However, have Napoleonics come to a complete halt?

Cheers,

Christopher

Some good stuff here. I reckon that'll cost me about £100 extra over the coming year!

Highlights for me: SWS, AMX-VCI, Ferret.

Personal Opinion of 2010-2011 Micronaut Schedule

First of all, my thanks to GHQ that twelve Micronauts will be released in the next year. (At first glance, I thought that there were 14 until I realized that the BKA-1125 and PG-117 were in 1/285 Microarmor rather than 1/2400 Micronaut range. These are off-the wall but a good choice.) Two of the top twelve on my wish list made the schedule, and most others are at least interesting to me. Overall, half of the ships were in the top 20 vote-getters on the consolidated Micronaut wish list. Enthusiasts of post-WWII warships get shut out again. I don’t model this era myself, but I can understand the disappointment with their long drought.

Here are some personal comments on the individual 2010-2011 Micronauts, beginning with what I consider best for me:

UKN46: BB Vanguard – This is a beautiful ship, high on my wish list, and high on the consolidated Micronaut wish list, despite the fact that it missed combat at the end of WWII. I am particularly interested in seeing how GHQ models the six-barrel 40 mm Bofors mounts that were exclusive to this ship. This helps the balance against GEN15, but the British still deserve a Lion class design.

GWS11: BB-26 South Carolina – This fills a significant gap in the US Dreadnought-era battle line. It was on my most-wanted list and relatively high on the consolidated Micronaut wish list. With the subsequent issue of ACR-4 Pittsburgh, only BB-26 Nevada class and DD-57 Tucker class remains as significant gaps in the US WWI-era list of warships. (I would eventually like to see BB-40, New Mexico, BB-43 Tennessee, and BB-45 Colorado as well, but these are at the end of the line rather than a gap.)

GEN21: CA Admiral Hipper – Not on my most-wanted list but close to it. This is another ship that fills in almost the last significant gap in a nation’s naval force. If Deutschland/Lützow and Gneiseneau show up there are no more large warships missing from the German WWII lineup.

SUN7: DL Tashkent – This came as a large and pleasant surprise to me. With only one ship completed, I did not expect GHQ to produce this destroyer-sized ship. From a purely selfish point of view, I hope that GHQ puts three in a pack. I intend to purchase a dozen for my hypothetical fleet to account for the twelve almost identical ships planned, even if it’s priced as a small cruiser.

IJN49: CL Kuma – Not very high on my want list, but a class of ships that I will purchase when GHQ produces them. The Kitakami torpedo cruiser conversion has been available for a long time but not the unconverted ships. I will probably get five to cover hypothetical combats between the World Wars.

GWR11: BB Tsessarevitch and
GWR12: BB Slava – Obsolescent by the time of the Great War, but Tsessarevitch and sisters of Slava engaged in major combats during the Russo-Japanese war. The only significant problem to me is that GHQ will probably model their appearance in 1914, which differed slightly from their 1904 look (light masts replaced the earlier military masts). I intend to buy them and convert back to the earlier appearance. Perhaps GHQ will start producing Japanese ships of the Russo-Japanese war in the future.

GWB28: ACR Minotaur – A long-time top vote-getter on the consolidated Micronaut wish list; all three were engaged at Jutland. I’m less interested in WWI ships than in WWII, but this is a good choice.

USN86: CV-41 Midway and
IJN50: CV Shinano: These are two massive aircraft carriers, not high on my list only because I am more interested in gaming surface warfare. I am interested in seeing what aircraft will come with these ships. The Japanese need a pack of late-war carrier-based aircraft. Corsairs, Avengers, and Hellcats will work on the Midway, but a pack of Bearcats, Tigercats, Maulers, and Skyraiders would be appropriate; perhaps even some Savages. The production of these large carriers brings thoughts of the post-war British Eagle (or even the cancelled Malta class) and a hypothetical German equivalent of Shinano on an H-class hull. I wonder how GHQ will price these monsters. $15.95 is the current price for the largest WWII ships, but I expect that they will have to go to the $19.95 of HUS16. I have read the comments about the low worth for historical gamers of ships that missed the war. If GHQ has had success in marketing H-class and Montana, I think that Vanguard and Midway will be successful also.

UKN47: MV Tower Hill – I haven’t been able to identify this ship exactly yet, but I think it is a cargo vessel somewhat larger than GHQ’s UKN14. I have been able to identify about a dozen British MVs named * Hill that were built or under construction in 1938. There is also a “Tower Hill Memorialâ€￾ in London that commemorates the memory of merchant seamen who died during the World Wars. I will probably purchase some of these ships to provide a bit more variety to my convoys.

I like that list - thanks GHQ :)

T-72s with ERA - that'll do nicely.

And He-111 H4 and a MiG-29 - wow!

Good stuff. Keep it up.

Some excellent micro armour choices there GHQ, a good variety for WW2, WM47 and moderns. T-95 SPG, E-50 Panzerjager and Namers will be top of my to buy list!

Checking my email around midnight, after coming back from a very intense session of WW1 naval wargaming, it was a pleasure to find the 2010/2011 release list. Seeing 12 micronaught releases for the year is greatly appreciated. Given that there are so many areas of interest for GHQ to respond to, I have to say that they seem to have tried to come up with something for everyone.

The Imperial Russian Navy is now complete for capital ships - something that can't be said for any other WW1 era navy. A significant number of the highly rated ships on Don Scheef's list have appeared. I suppose the Vanguard and Midway were helped along by the Wehrmacht 47 program, but you know what they say about gift horses.

A lot to look forward to, but of course I shall still be pining for the missing vessels of the Kaiserliche und Königliche Kriegsmarine.

A great thank you, GHQ! As I'm collecting modern PLA, I'm surprised and very pleased to see AC(RC?) WZ-9B and ZBD-2000 IFV on the list. The addition of the helicopter really fills in one of the gaps in the RC collection. The IFV is also a big missing piece for my Type 63A amphibious battalion. :)

Wow interesting list! I'm looking forward to modern Brazilian stuff and the SA15. Also good to see the AMX-VCI and the only the one is made by Skytrex and its not the greatest.

Only one pack of sub saharan infantry though? What about support weapons?

Also the BKA 1125 and PG-117 fast boats might finally convince me to start coastal gaming in 1/300th.

No new releases in May or July  Is that beacause they are on holiday or holding out?

Cheers

Does anyone have any information about the "SdKfz 11 SPAA"? I cannot find it in my reference books on German AFV's. What is the gun size? :?:

2cm Flak 38. It is a SdKfz 11 with a partially armoured cab. It's number should be SdKfz 11/1 doubling the same designation for an early type of the tractor. It was realized from 1944.

I'm very happy with new items coming out of the erecting halls of GHQ especially the Vanguard, Minotaur, Midway, Hipper, Kuma, and Shinano models. Will be getting 25 plus in the next 12 months. Still need the Nevada class for WW1 though. For WW2 need some Type 7U DD's, CVL Unicorn, and French CL Duguay-Trouin class light cruisers. Would also like to ask for LPD-17 SAN ANTONIO Class (10 units). Good job GHQ

My hat is off to you guys at GHQ. 8)
You hit one out the ball park this time!
From the tanks, planes, men, equipment, and ships it is quite a list to say the least!
I'd say you have made many, many people very, very happy at this time!
I hope you're ready for some very large orders, because some of this stuff has been on the wish lists for years!
I don't think anybody can say now that you don't listen to us customers anymore!
Brovo, Brovo! :D
Thanks,

RC PLA Armoured Combat Team
N US MRAP Combat Team

Good job done GHQ on the modern side.

Definitely gonna look into all this and get them for surezz.
Loving Modern Warfare real well and this will at on to it. Might get the Sub-Saharan Irregulars.
But I do hope for a more East European Irregulars soon

U have really done your research and I must say, u have catered real well to consumers on all fronts.

Not too much of a WW1 or WW2 fans but i can think its overall a more than satisfactory job.

The only appeal I have is that... hopefully soon enough, you guys will add 1 or 2 to the modern naval fleet. As usual I would state out that the Type 45 Daring Class UK destroyer and Perhaps an expansion on the UK fleet variety like the Type 23. And yeah maybe modify your Arleigh Burke Flight 1 to a newest Flight IIA. Really would appreciate the "Modernisation" or updating of the Modern fleet range that is available.

Hope u guys can look into that or hear me out that there is still a considerable amount of peeps who take interest in the modern micronaut naval ships..

Other than that, Job well done!
I have no complaints. Its a real good assortment, will be looking forward to it.

Cheers
