Merkava vs. Merkava Mk IV

I'm just beginning my foray into MicroArmour. Two of my gaming friends already have 1980s Iraqi and Iranian forces (they did the Iraq-Iran War). I've had a fascination for the Merkava MBT for some time, so, upon learning that my friends have forces that would reasonably have fought against the Merkava, it makes sense to start collecting an Israeili force.

The Israeli combat command set comes with Merkava IVs, which are far too late in period. Would it be possible to purchase Merkava turrets to put on the IV hulls, or are even the hulls significantly different between the Merkava and the Mk IV?

I just happened to have some of both vehicles unpainted on the table next to me, so I could try this out. Yes, it is physically possible to do this with the GHQ Merkavas, but the Hull of the Merkava IV is much larger than the I - IiI series in width, length, and hight.

How many Merkavas from GHQ are you looking for? How many Merkava IV do you have? Might consider a trade......???

Right now I have no IVs. No GHQ anything really, just getting started. Going to be a while before I have cash to buy more stuff, but figured I can do some planning so I know exactly what to do when I do pull the trigger.
