I would recommend a good hands free magnifier. Micro-Mart offers an excellent head set: http://www.micromark.com/OPTIVISOR-BINO ... ,6711.html that you can get additional magnification lenses for.

It is reasonably priced for its utility.

I don't use the loop but have two seperate magnification head sets. One for general work and one for really close-up.
