Personally I'd like to see some of the ground gear as well; Renault FT17, 18pdr, French 75, all used in early WW2. Having said that, there are still gaps in the WW2 line; Lloyd carriers as tows for 6pdrs, Humber 4x4 heavy utility (staff car and light ambulance version) Austin K2 (GHQ make the US ambulance, why not the Brit version? The UK supplied some to the USAAF under reverse lend lease, so they were fairly common). More trucks!!!

Yeh, I figured the original request was for 1/285 Microarmor; but outside of "GW" Micronauts, GHQ doesn't do anything for WWI except left-over Renault tanks. There are lots of WWI ships in 1/2400 scale however. Wouldn't a 1/2400 scale LZ41 be great for revisionist versions of the Battle of Jutland?

Not in 1/2400 scale.TAMMY wrote:I support the LZ41 model. However it would be quite heavy as a "flyng" metal model. It should be better in resin.

A metal LZ41 would probably be heavy even in 1/2400 scale if solid. However, I think that GHQ could do it as two halves with the interior hollowed out (as in the hulls of their battleships and aircraft carriers.
Panzerschiffe makes a resin LZ type. The general shape is OK, but there isn't much detail to it.

For the planes I would start with classic fighters like Sopwith Camel, Spad XIIO, Fokker Triplane, Albatros and so on. If this line has success I would add some bombers like Caproni, Gotha etc.
I am not much nterested in land forces as I do not like wargaming in this period except for some skirmish (Sturmtruppen or Arditi). I may be interested just for some collection.

Not to belabor the point but if my math is correct then it would only be about 2.67 inches long and .8 inches wide in 1/2400 scale given a length of 163m and diameter of 19m for the real thing. By way of comparison the F-4 Phantom is 2.65 inches in 1/285 scale. So picture a GHQ F-4 without the wings etc. and that's about the size of it - again unless my public math is off. Not very heavy at all in my estimation.Donald M. Scheef wrote:A metal LZ41 would probably be heavy even in 1/2400 scale if solid. I don't do WWI naval yet but that would be a very cool model to see and could induce me to start.

Thanks, I always hated public math.Donald M. Scheef wrote:Length of about 2.7 inches is correct, but beam is closer to 0.3 inch than to 0.8 inch. A 1/2400 scale LZ41 doesn't sound so bad when compared to a 1/285 scale F-4.
