I have a stupid question
sorry about this stupid question, but i was just wondering what "improved positions " were? (light, medium, heavy, etc.)

Improved fighting positions in infantry combat refer to fighting positions that have been prepared. Contrasted to a hasty fighting position, which is basically the soldier taking cover behind a boulder or a fallen log, an improved fighting position will be built with consideration to maximum protection while ensuring maximum field of fire. Improved fighting positions can be dug out of the ground or built on the surface, and can be made with logs, wood, concrete, sandbags, etc. Heavier improved fighting positions will have overhead cover to protect the soldiers from artillery bombardment.
Its a sniper rifle, not a "sniper"! You don't call an assault rifle an "assault"!
