Terrain effect when shooting?

Post by Ragnar65 »

Hi guys,

I´m a bit confused about the Terrain Effects Chart, especially about the CRT Die roll Penalty.

Given situation:

A M4 Sherman fires at a German StuG. Sherman is standing in Rough Terrain One, Stug is on Poor Road. Depends the possible penalty on the terrain the target is in or the firing unit is in? In the first case there would be no penalty, in the second case there would be a +1 penalty.

As usual, any help will be much appreciated...

In your example, there would be no modifier for the "target" (the STUG on a poor road). The Sherman would fire without any modifier to the cohesion roll and there would be no modifier on the combat results table. On the other hand, if the Sherman were the "target", the STUG would add a +1 to its cohesion roll...and if successful...it would then add a +1 to the combat results table.

It seems that a line is missing in Micro Squad in respect of MATG. The same column in MATG start with (target in this terrain).
