An idea I've had kicking around for a while- take one of the spare floatplanes you get with GHQ 1/2400 ships and make a stand of one dropping an illumination flare for night battles. Here's the result:

Very nice! This is the sort of concept that is obvious once someone has done it, but it takes a certain amount of genius to be the first.
I assume the illumination in the final photo is from an out-of-frame source (the plane is illuminated from above rather than from below and behind).

Yup, held a small flashlight over the vignette and snapped the pic with the camera on the tripod.
