Said the guy who can game with 6 models and a blue cloth!

Yeah, my Soviet tanks are painted a monotone green, but then detailed, and washed, and dry-brushed, and it takes 31 tanks, 12 APCs and a few trucks, along with some infantry and SPGs, before I've got even ONE side of the battle! Oh, and let's not forget the buildings, and the roads, and the hills, and the fences, and the utlility poles, and the trees, and the hedges, and the creeks, and bridges, and my this is small type ....

Just two words: Platoon Scale!

:)

I'm just teasing. I appreciate and respect you guys that model units (companies, battalions and bigger) at 1:1 scale. Wish I could afford it.

I'm experimenting with a new set of battalion scale rules where I only need 1 vehicle per battalion. Problem is I need to roll more than 50 dice each time.

I don't actually think about whether I can afford to model an armored brigade at 1:1 or the Pacific Fleet of 1941 and 1942 I just started doing it. As Yoda would say: "Once down the Modeling Path forever will it dominate your wallet." Or something like that! ':?'

Sorry, should have specified: my Cold War ground forces arrived!
Russians of course will be mid-1960s green, and I am doing my Canadians in this scheme -

So no Haze Gray for me! I too like WW1 and WW2 ships, and lose interest after that. :P
That's an interesting idea for doing the Canucks. Can't wait to see how they turn out in the end :D

I haven't been doing much microarmor gaming lately, and it seems to take me forever to label the pics. This was a game played awhile back that is suppose to take place around Vienna in April 45. The game is primarily a meeting engagement between two recce forces in the flood plain outside of Vienna

I Ain't Been Shot Mum rules with the idea taken from a Bob MacKenzie scenario.

Show Us Your Games

Hi Mark

That is another excelent AAR combined with your usual great terrain and models. You always seem to come up with interesting scenarios where the two sides have interesting problems and some less than usual equipment.
A case in point is the German 234/4 armored car and the Russian Valentine tanks. I would love to see GHQ do a Valentine IX or similar to portray this common "Russian" tank. Right now they have the much less common 75mm Valentine XI which was more of a commander's vehicle by my reading thus far.

I always look forward to seeing your AAR's, Mark. Keep em coming.

Ain't it so!

I have gotten tot he point were I save up a new MLUTHER AAR like a favorite program on my DVR. Wait until I have some quiet time, get a drink or a tastey snack, sit myself down comfortably, and open up the show!

So far I have never been disappointed!

Great looking models, engaging terrain, an interesting scenario, compelling story telling and great photography!

Another great AAR, Mark!

Thanks for the comments.
I do find it more interesting to game using elements that are a bit out of the ordinary, either units or terrain.

I can't take credit for these piccies though-that would be the doing of hugewally

The France 40 table looks great, lekw. Looks like you've got the pastel roads bit down and your minis look mighty fine also.

Nice looking game, what rules did you use? Also, how big was the table?
