Hello! any modern wargamers in the Philly area out there?

Post by philly'sBestRussianArmor »

it seems pretty hard to find modern micro-armor wargamers in the Philadelphia area.
to be honest, most of the gamers here are stuck on some fantasy planet, content to fire weapons which will never exist.

I am a fan of good, solid, realistic wargames, and I am trying to start up a small club of dedicated modern wargame enthusiasts. I would like to meet at least once per month, on a saturday afternoon, for long wargames which could last until midnight or so.

I have all the units needed, in case you dont have any. Ive been buying GHQ's fine products for many years and now can field a russian independant tank battalion, an Israeli tank company, and an American tank company or mechanized infentry battalion.

anyone interested in getting up some good games?

by the way, here is the latest board I am working on...

the map is now painted and is being heavily forested right now

modern miniature armored wargames rules, as detailed but streamlined as possible, include Wargames Research Group's rules and also Challenger

Shame I'm stationed in Japan now. I'm from near Cherry Hill, NJ and love moderns almost as much as I love Warhammer Fantasy (but not 40k, ugghh, terrible game IMO). I like your terrain board, post same painted pics!

Anyone know which Hobby stores in Philadelphia might have GHQ? Will be there this weekend and hoping to be able to swing by.

Ordering direct is very prompt. That solves the GHQ desert here in the Kansas City area. The only thing it doesn't satisfy is that impulse buy when you are looking right at it. The only problem is agonizing over just what I will order when...
