Hi all,
Thought this thread could do with a bit of activity. Plus I could do with some wisdom regarding some areas on my terrain boards. I've got the basic terrain sorted but what I'm looking for is some ideas regarding certain areas of the board.
Here is some basic planning that I created. The area which I need a little inspiration for is circled for you guys!
And here is the stage that I'm at now. I also need to decide what to do with the bottom right of this terrain board!
There are some more pics on my blog as well as some other stuff, but I'm sure you guys can point me in the right direction! Any ideas welcome!
The northwest corner of Baghdad International Airport in 1/285th scale. Work in progress. Just started the application of the desert sand texture … this is a process that takes several applications before it's done, this is just the first base layer.
This last photo shows the area being modeled. The satellite image on the left shows the area that I'm modeling. I've taken a little bit of artistic license especially in ground scale, I tried to keep the widths of all runways and taxiways real close to scale but the distances between things is seriously reduced.
That is really excellent work on your airport. It looks like quite a large project. While I am not as into modern micro armor as WWII, I really do appreciate seeing great work.
Oh yes! In the novel (and the movie) "Fatherland" that Albert Speer project was built by 1964.
Actually the project was started building the Olimpya stadium and other minor parts like an underground hugway under that large avenue that would be closed to vehicles.
The works were suspended on the start of Barbarossa, planning to comlete them after the victory on Russia.
