Borodino in 10mm

Post by ACWBill »

I have been meaning to post these pics since last January. Here is a link to TMP where I posted 20 or so pics of my huge 10mm Borodino game. I used GHQ Terrain Maker tiles and my 10mm Napoleonics collection. We played with modified Shako and had a minot Russian victory. I found the pics too large to post directly on the forum. Enjoy!

Hi Bill

That is really excellent work there. Although I am not really into Napoleonics as much as some other periods, I do appreciate your fine work and attention to detail. Thanks very much for sharing.

Some very nice miniatures and scenery ACWBill. I used to play Shako using 20mm plastic Napoleonic figures. They are a very easy to play rule set.

Simple, fun and a nice Napoleonic "feel" to the flow of the rules. Agreed, I like them too.

Betio-ish Game

Post by ACWBill »

Here are some "before the storm" shots of my Betio-like game for Saturday's SMG club game. I shall use Command Decision Test of Battle and my micros and GHQ Terrain Maker tiles. I could not duplicate the Island of Betio exactly, but it comes across in its basic shape. I will try to post and AAR Sunday.

Some of my Dauntless Dive Bombers

Wading Marines I made for this scenario. CD ToB calls for this in beach scenarios and I wanted mine to actually look the part.

More of the beach.

The board which is approx. 5 X 10 Ft.

Water Line LVTs and some of the landed variety which I made to look as if they were traversing the Sea Wall.

LVTs, some Gray and some Olive Drab as per my sources.

Some of the Japanese infantry and guns. One stand has a flag bearer. I built three of these for any Banzai Charges. The Banzai charge is almost inevitable with my crowd of gamers!

Enjoy,

Awesome looking game!! How do you like those shapeways crates and barrels? Do they fit in well with the GHQ minis? Thanks again for sharing!!!

Shapeways items are nice. They seem a tad big, but fit. Leven miniatures also has some good crate bases.
Thanks for the comments. A 8 X 6 table would've been even better for this game, but the shop was packed that day at any rate.
