I am on an overseas assignment now, so don't have access to my reference materials. The following is personal opinion without any solid support.
My initial response is go ahead and do it. As mentioned, there are only a few standard patterns for tankers of this era; either bridge amidships or bridge aft. Other than this, the differences between specific designs are limited to dimensions and small details. I'm not sure if the Brits had any T2s during the war, but they must have had some tankers of about the same dimensions. Even if a T2 is not exactly correct, I wouldn't raise an issue about using one in a scenario.

I just finished painting the ships for the Battle of Denmark Straight. All that's left is to get some Dullcote and then glue them to the bases.
Links worked last night. Fixing them.

a more accurate Kuma
I want Kuma but more accurate.
If I understand correctly I need the bridge from INJ49 Kuma and the hull of IJN24 Nagara?
Is IJN24 Nagara bridge a separate item as with IJN49 Kuma?
Any difficulty in just replacing the Nagara bridge with the Kuma bridge?
Any other changes needed?

IJN54 Katori
A very nice model, with plenty of GHQ detail. I measure it as 55mm x 7mm well within accuracy for a 1/2400 miniature.
There are only two things I find a bit bothersome. The IJN cruiser aircraft sprue is used for this model and it's showing it's casting age a little.
Second the turret sprue has only two turrets (and 2 catapults and two funnels). One fat finger oops and I will need to order a sprue. In fact I will probably order one anyway because it's a gaming model and something will happen eventually.
I like the catapults, they are wide enough to glue the FM1 Pete onto securely.

IJN 54 Katori
Yes, only two turrets included with mine as well. A great model though!

Can anybody help a naval newby out with paint color? I've only really painted ground vehicles, and I can't even really do that well, but despite my shortcomings I picked up a modern USN Bunker Hill model that I'd like to paint for a friend of mine. Can anybody recommend paint colors in the Testor's Model Master line? That is what I find at the local hobby store, but if there is another paint manufacturer that is better I'm sure I can order the color I need.
My friend served on the USS Cowpens back in the day and I want to make a model of his ship for him....I'm hoping it will look cool enough and I can get him hooked in GHQ! I learned that from watching drug dealer reality shows on TV!
Thanks!

HMS Daring
Daring HRN6, does the model include helicopters?
I just realized that the picture doesn't show any and the few I've seen on ebay don't have any either.

Having viewed many of the fine examples of work on this thread I've decided to try my hand. with Micronauts and here are my first efforts. I decided to start with the IJN because their ships are both interesting to me and they don't have complex camouflage patterns, which I didn't want to tackle right off the bat. The pictures are posted in the order in which I've painted them.
