I've recently posted pictures of GHQ's massive E-100 on my website (www.microarmormayhem.com):

Continuing to work on Flames of Epic forces, I have a battery of German guns on the table - two packs of G134. Here are the prime movers, almost done. Need to do the windscreens and some minor touch up.

Mark,

They are looking good. Do you airbrush the base coat?

Regards,

Paul

No airbrush involved.

I primed with Coat d'Arms dark sand. Heavy dry brush with Coat d'Arms Desert Yellow. Light dry brush with Coat d'Arms buff. Then I stipple on the green (Camouflage Green) with an old brush.

Mark,

The base coat looks very smooth like it was airbrushed or sprayed on. Excellent job!!!

For 1:285 I use a "wet brush" technique. Meaning I dip the brush in water, wick off a little, then dip in the paint. This thins the paint right on the brush. Since I paint in small batches it just feels wasteful to thin it out in a cup, and I don't want to thin the whole pot since I use it for other things....

Will give that a try and see how it works for me.

More reinforcements. Two batteries of German 15cm guns. The deployed guns are painted and based, just have to do the crews. That's my next project.

This also shows how I identify units with colored beads on the rear right corner of the stands. The prime movers are separate so I can swap out for trucks. I'll put them with their gun on magnetic stands so they can be moved together (in larger games where speed and fiddlyness can be an issue).

I recently began painting up some Russian equipment. As always with my stuff, its always close to being done but never finished. These need to have some detail cleaned up and then sealed and a wash added.

I hope that someday soon I can actually focus enough to complete something 100 percent so that I can actually use them in a game. Never has any of them shot a round in anger.

Hoth,
You war gaming imposture...I challenge you to a duel! Do you accept? Bring your micro armor to Jacksonville, FL on Saturday, December 19. You can help Paul, he needs it. You will fire shots in anger although some might get taken out before they get their fire occurs.
This game is open, so you are welcome. We would be delighted to have you. Since it is Florida, bring your swim suit.

Additionally, I like your painting and camo! Keep up the nice work.

Chrisswim,

O no U didn't... Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war... My armored fist would roll over you and grind your forces into dust.. As much as I would love to pick up what you are throwing down... Due to budget cuts my air mobility has suffered. As a result my forces sit in the long drawn out rains of the pacific northwest winter. However, there is the possibilities of permanent redeployment to the East in my future. If that happens, I will surely make the drive to give you what for.

It sounds very tempting... Maybe in the future. As to the future, You never know, I could find myself in your territory with battle group in hand.

Chrisswin,

Thanks for the compliment on my work. I struggle with learning what is enough is enough for what is good for playing and making a museum piece. The later seems like a dog chasing its tale.. Truth be know, my skill is probably not good enough to achieve the level of some of the masters on this site. With that said, they look really cool in a game and that is good enough.
Quantity has a Quality all its own.

The main thing is you enjoy how they look. Many of us cannot achieve the levels that others on this site have. They inspire me and I learn from them but I am still far from being at their level.

Hoth did you ever get transferred to the east coast?
