TY Bat Rep

Post by SKeeM »

So I have been using GHQ models with the TY rules and I would like to share pics from my games. This is my first game played at 200 points and the mission was free for all.
Just for the record I was using my T80 army while I waited to get my T72's painted.

Game two! We played at 150 points and the mission was no retreat, you can see the progression of my armies.

SKeeM,
Nice looking games, terrain, and figures. Although I did not like seeing that first M1A1 Abrams burning. The T-80 are okay to burn up, IMHO.

SKeeM,

Excellent photos. How did the rules play? Did you feel like it was a good representation of what would really happen?

Thanks for sharing all of those photos! There is definitely a very large contingent that is using GHQ miniatures with TY rules...and that's OK with us. In the last couple of months we have sold far more M1's, T-72's, Cobras, and Hinds that we have in years. The M1 Abrams hasn't been one of our best sellers in a couple of decades- everyone has been buying the newer Abrams variants- it's nice to see it back up there! We get a lot of orders that look like they came directly off of the TY list.

We know that there are a ton of you out there, please show some more photos!

Thank you for your support,
GHQ

@Redleif, thank you I really enjoy putting them together.

@Paul, to be honest I think the T72 is over rated but it keeps the game balanced and fun. We played with all the ranges and distances as they are. The weapons ranges feel right in this scale, movment feels like too much but it would change the balance of the game if we alter them. We might consider shortening the infantry movement though. The artillery templates need to be cut in half or they can be to devastating. All the aircraft rules and ADA rules are fair.

Very happy to hear GHQ is receptive to this conversation. I try to be respectful and not cross any lines and I really want to promote TY in 6mm with GHQ models (I am a huge fan). I have mentioned TY here before but did not want to overstep my bounds. I am a firm believer though that TY will be much more enjoyable in 6mm and I look forward to playing many games in the future and it will be great for me to be sble share some detailed bat reps here with other people who appreciate these models like I do. It is always nice to be in the company of like minded people.

And I owe you more thanks then you can ever owe me. I have spent countless hours building and playing with your models over the past 26 years. You make more models than I could ever have time to paint and you continually add to the line.

So thank you for all the effort you put into making great models.

Great looking game and an awesome job on the vehicles. They do look nice on the FOW bases.
