Speedpainting Tutorial and New Models

Finished 55 more vehicles for my Royal Austral Self Defense Force (my imagi-nation) and its Saudi opponents. They were done in 4 hrs, 20 minutes. About 5 minutes each, including assembly and workbench cleanup.

Those RASDF vehicles are amazing. And only 5 minutes each? I take an average of an hour per tank and they don't look nearly half as good. Hats off.

Commonwealth of Chrisdom:

This map shows the location of the Kingdom of Austral.

In the 1990s, the Kingdom of Austral bought minority shares in the major Russian and Ukranian AFV manufacturing firms. The AFVs bought by Austral are better made than typical models (and have numerous minor enhancements to make them better for desert environments. They are are definitely NOT "monkey models".

I fear that your M47s will be outmatched by our T-64s. Perhaps we should send our charge d'affairs to see if an amicable peace can be negotiated between our nations. This is our current charge d'affairs:

Queen Kathy,
Is Ellie credentialed properly? If so, send her on, were are delighted to entertain her as we discuss terms.
Although terms are probably minor since were are in the Western Med. Chrisdom North, Francedom(what was once eastern france on the Med, Taldom(west Italy on the med). Manacodom, Tunisdom, Moroccodom, a small peninsula on eastern Spain- Iberiandom, the island of Corsicadom, Sardarindom, and the Balearicdom islands.
We may recall the task force and the secondary task force. Small coastline, easy to track the fleet (2 task force), Not sure that the Moroccian tankers and fighters are up to the task. Our 2nd task force was planning to use Leopard 1A1, AIFV(YPR765), M901,etc. I will say that the swordmen were looking forward to battle, but were are not bring the camels for them to ride.
So send Ellie, then we would like to talk with Queen Kathy.
Would you like to buy some equipment? We have all sorts available, planes, bombs, tanks, missiles (AA, AS, etc), ammo, radios, radars, etc? Do you produce oil as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia produce? Need any computer simulation equipment and training?
Would you like to establish passenger flights for tourism, we have some wonderful casinos on the Med, Euro Disney 2, Euro SeaWorld, 19 Flags of Balearicdom?
Favorably look forward to a reply!
Chris

Great paint jobs.
It takes me far longer to come up with a more inferior and lower standard.

What are you using as a wash?

Thanks for sharing this. The models look really great for the time spent. Actually they just look grea, period.
My models take longer and I am happy with them but it is great to see what other people are doing.

7.62 -- I use a custom wash made of Future floor wax and black ink.

Pete and others -- thanks for the kind words. Time has been my most limited resource for a very long time, so I have consciously developed techniques to get maximum results from minimal time. These models could actually have been painted in less than 4 minutes each if I'd left off painting the tracks and machineguns. On the table, you'd barely notice the difference. But even I have my compulsions...
