I want to print roads....on vinyl? cloth? options?

Post by Extra Crispy »

I found some really good printable roads at World Works that I need for my Team Yankee table. I could print them out on cardstock but I think they'll be too "stiff" and won't work over hills and so on.

They will be pretty narrow (about an inch) so I need something that won't curl up at the edges. Not sure what options are out there.

Any experience from the GHQ hive mind?

I haven't tried this but have you considered making iron on transfers for the cloth? Staples and other office supply stores sell 8.5" x 11" iron on transfer sheets that can be printed on a inkjet or laser printer. You could then iron on what you needed.

Again, I have not tried this but it's one of those things that sounds like it should work depending on what you try to iron it onto.

You can print them yourself on a "felt gaming mat"... A.K.A. "Felt Photo Blanket". They end up being high resolution and you can usually find 50% off coupons from many online suppliers. From there, you might be able to cut the roads out...

That how I printed my own: http://wwiicentral.blogspot.com/search/ ... ing%20Mats

All the details on these were designed in my artwork... hexes, islands, water, and down at the bottom, railroad tracks. This is the same method that other gaming producers use like Cigar Battle Box: http://cigarboxbattlestore.bigcartel.com/

Good luck!

Wow! Those mats are amazing. How did you print them? My little inkjet isn't going to print anything that large. Did you take them to Kinko's or something?

He said he sent them out. They are "blankets" that you send an image and the company prints and sends them back....
