Guns. Soviet guns. 12 Zis3 and 12 Zis2 to be specific.

What are you working on?

Once I move I will get back on finishing my US division. Have a few M109's and MRLS minis to complete.

I put together a Bundeswehr Divisional Recon Battalion

HQ & GSR Platoon elements

Spahpanzer Company

There should be another Spahpanzer Platoon but how many armored cars do you need to put on the table?
Heavy Recon Company

The Heavy Recon Company is a pretty powerful unit with two Tank Platoons, two Mech Infantry Platoons, an Engineer Platoon and a SP 120 mm Mortar Platoon.
Tactics are the opinion of the senior officer present.

Finished the guns, starting in on the crews. Hope to have the 76s finished tonight, except maybe for the basing.

I'm on vacation this week so I'm working on trees for my table. Reading up on this article: http://elenderilsblog.blogspot.co.uk/20 ... trees.html as the base point. I'd used hot glue to fix my trees to the bases instead of using milliput (note: hot glue does NOT hold onto pennies). With that failure in front of me I used elmer's (PVA) to cement the hot glue to the base. That seems to be doing the trick. I've finished 25 trees. Only 215 left to do.

Cav Dog,

It's been a while, and the recon TOE may be different, but I believe German tank platoons are four rather than five. If your info is different, please update me.

Here is the first pack of artillery crews finished. One more to go, then it's just basing. Should have all 24 guns ready by the weekend.

This TO&E is from the 70s and early 80s when the BW still had 17 tank companies on the US model so platoons of 5 tanks were the norm although the 3 tank sections of 3 tanks in the Spahpanzer company are unusual.

I'm working on an 80s Argentinian army - TAM tanks, VCTP IFVs, AMX-VCIs, M113s and a few trucks. A strange army choice, and one which I have had in a box for over 20 years. No GHQ models though

I wont post any pictures here but will link to my pocketbucket folder instead. Eventually these will end up on my website.

Cav Dog,

Thanks! I should have figured that out from the vehicles you were using.

One can never have too many (or enough) Luchs on the table. I have Luchs done up in UN colors for the Balkans as well as full Light and Heavy Recon Battalions. I love this Army Structure for the BW.

What Are You Working On?

Post by pmskaar »

I have several ongoing WWII projects in the works right now.

1. Tiger Is with Pz IIINs for North Africa. I have started the detail work on some of these.

2. Tiger Is for Kursk period on Russian Front. These are base coated only.

3. Pz III company for Kursk period. I have 5 vehicles nearly done but still have a way to go on the rest.

4. M4A3 platoon for Western Europe. More detail work and then the wash.

5. Russian vehicles for Barbarossa. Not much done on this one yet other than the prep work on some BT-5s, BT-7s, and T-26s plus some KV-1s and KV-2s.

I am also painting more stuff for the GHQ catalog which has been my main focus in the last couple of weeks.

Well, pretty much all my hobby time is used on 1/285 projects these days. I have been painting some old GHQ casts I picked up years ago at local conventions. I have also been painting buildings and terrain pieces and mostly Russian and German WW2 kit. I got a good amount of South Africans and Commies done for my Bush Wars games. Finally, I have started basing up a lot of the minis, AFV's included, to protect the miniatures as well as to get them ready for use in Command Decision games.

I added some pics of my stuff to my blog (see below hyperlink).

Here is a sample of a couple of my favorites. Not the best cell phone picture, but I just love the model. I rescued this old GHQ cast from a bargain bin at a convention and turned it into a nice gaming piece:
