10mm Napoleonic

Post by SFCDODGE65 »

Does anyone else game 10mm Napoleonics? It seems GHQ has stopped making figures or pursuing a rule set and have discontinued some of the figures. I am trying to spark new interest in this line as I have quite a few and would like to expand my collection. Having new figures, such as Napoleonic Old Guard and Austrians with helmets, would definitely be a plus. As GHQ has not released a set of rules yet, I have found these figures work great for other rules providing a more realistic look on the battlefield than 15's, 20's, or 28's. The detail is still there (unlike 6mm). Hate mixing in figures from other manufacturers as the quality is visibly inferior to GHQ.

10mm has been gaining some traction in general. Cracker Box has a spiffing ACW line, and Old Glory added a big range of 10s a few years back. But the OG are pretty nice and very, very cheap with the army card. So they may be sucking a lot of wind out of GHQs sails.

As for rules, figure scale doesn't matter. You can easily adjust any rule set to use the figures and basing of your choice.

Thanks for the info Mark. I bought my Grande Armee and Age of Eagles rules from you at NASHCON a few years back. I have been working to build a 10mm Napoleonic force since then. I have acquired some Magister Militum, Flashing Blade, Newline Design, and Old Glory figures to augment my mostly GHQ forces since this line is limited. I am trying to build an interest in our Huntsville Historical Wargamers club for Napoleonics in this scale. It has started getting some attention and I am hoping to spark GHQ to pick up with more new releases in this line. Thanks again.
