2017 Imagi-Nation Fighter Rodeo
The Republic of Dalmatia is pleased to announce that the 2017 Fighter Rodeo will be held March 12th through the 18th, and once again the event will be open to international participants!
For the second year in a row, the Ministry of Defense is hosting The International Fighter Rodeo – a week-long event that brings the best combat pilots together from all over the world to hone their combat skills and to promote camaraderie and interoperability.
The ROD invites each participating nation to send 2 squadrons to the event (one to compete as a fighter squadron and one to compete as an attack squadron). Each squadron will consist of 12 combat aircraft and no more than 150 total personnel. Additional support aircraft and personnel are welcome, though they will not be involved in the competition. The ROD will provide housing and meals for all participants, dignitaries, and media as well as fuel, live ordnance, training ordnance, and ground transportation.
There will be three competition categories: fighter, attack, and support.
Fighter Category
-Low-level course. All 12 pilots will complete a challenging course at low altitude, negotiating a series of man-made markers and natural terrain features designed to test a pilot’s ability to maneuver at low altitude. Score is based on time and accuracy.
-Drone shoot. 6 pilots will be selected to intercept an unmanned drone and destroy it with cannon fire. Aircraft will be airborne when the drone is launched and will be directed to the target by AWACS aircraft. Time will start when the fighter is 20 miles away from the target. Aircraft without internal cannon will mount an external 20mm gun pod for this event.
-Head-to-head. 6 pilots will be selected to participate in a 1-on-1 dogfight with another fighter. 2 points will be awarded for a victory, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Pilots will participate in 2 dogfights and then the pilots with the most points will enter a semi-final stage leading up to one pilot being named top dogfighter.
Attack Category
-Low-level course. All 12 pilots will complete a challenging course at low altitude, negotiating a series of man-made markers and natural terrain features designed to test a pilot’s ability to maneuver at low altitude. Score is based on time and accuracy.
-Cannon shoot. 6 pilots will be selected to attack a stationary ground target and destroy it with cannon fire. Points will be awarded for accuracy. Aircraft without internal cannon will mount an external 20mm gun pod for this event.
-Bomb drop. 6 pilots will be selected to attack a stationary ground target and destroy it with a 500 lb unguided bomb. Points will be awarded for accuracy.
Support Category
-Aircraft maintenance. A panel of distinguished aircraft maintenance experts will inspect all 12 aircraft and award points based on the overall readiness and condition of the squadron’s aircraft.
-Aircraft pit-stop. All 12 aircraft will begin the competition airborne with a full load of blue painted training ammunition and ordnance, but with minimal fuel. The entire squadron will land and be refueled by the ground crew. All ammunition and ordnance will be downloaded and replaced with a full complement of red-painted training ammunition and ordnance. Time will start when the first aircraft touches down and will end when the last aircraft lifts off after refueling and rearming.
The rodeo will culminate in a major air battle with all aircraft participating in a force-on-force exercise that will test combat skills as well as the ability to operate effectively in a multi-national force.
[GM’s Note: No real people or micro armor aircraft need to move for this event. Please just add pics of your aircraft and let me know who is participating. All competitions will be resolved by dice roll. Aircraft can be in any scale.]
If you would like to participate, please notify the ROD Ministry of Defense and include the squadron designations and aircraft types.

The ROD welcomes a pilots, ground crew, and support personnel to the 2017 Fighter Rodeo! The reception and cocktail party were well attended, but shortly after the keynote address began the pilots began to migrate to other parts of the airbase, and eventually out into the local community.
Many pilots found themselves at a local bar called Twinkle Toes, which became the scene of an epic karaoke battle. The herd was thinned to two dashing military pilots; a Balzac fighter pilot and a Dalmatian transport pilot. The competition was neck and neck until the crowd discovered tat the Dalmatian flew C-130s and then he succumbed to calls of "There's no lovin feeling to lose in a transport!"
The Dalmatian pilot vowed to return next year and the victorious Balzac claimed his seat at the bar surrounded by pilot groupies.
The pilots and crews will soon be returning to their billets to prepare for tomorrow's evens.
There is still time for other national teams to arrive and compete in the morning!

My guess, those at Twinkle Toes were drunk outta their minds.....
Where there any arrests reported.
.
Has there been an entry of the state control by the Knights Templar from the country of Tripoli? I understand from Intelligence ** CENSORED ** that they have a lot of British and French equipment. I do not have any firm data on their aircraft.

Day 1 of the 2017 Fighter Rodeo is complete, and we are happy to announce that there were no fatalities! And due to a smaller number of squadrons participating this year, the head to head fighter competition has been expanded to all fighter aircraft, rather than 6 aircraft per fighter squadron.
All pilots and crews brought their A Game today, but of particular interest was the superb performance of Chrisdom’s F-8 fighters. They came in to the day’s events as a bit of an underdog, but as a group they dominated the fighter low-level course, and they also won several impressive air-to-air victories in round 1 of the head to head fighter competition. Will they be able to maintain their dominance tomorrow?
Here are today’s results:
Fighter Aircraft Low-Level Course:
1st Place: Chrisdom Composite Fighter Squadron, F-8 Aircraft #7
2nd Place: Chrisdom Composite Fighter Squadron, F-8 Aircraft #6
3rd Place: ROD 9th Fighter Squadron, F-16 Aircraft #9
Attack Squadron Pit-Stop Competition: the winner is ROD VF-11 (F-4 Squadron)

The ground crews participated as well today with an impromptu moon-walk and break dance throw down on the flight line, but now trophies were awarded for this.
Today’s aerial duels wrapped up the first round of the head to head competition. The 20 top scoring fighter pilots are moving on to round 2.
Here are today’s other results:
Attack Aircraft Low-Level Course:
1st Place: BSDF Attack Squadron, BAE Hawk Aircraft #1
2nd Place: Chrisdom Composite Attack Squadron, A-4 Aircraft #3
3rd Place: ROD VF-11 , F-4 Aircraft #5
Fighter Squadron Pit-Stop Competition: the winner is the Chrisdom Composite Fighter Squadron
In addition to round 2 of the head to head fighter competition, the Fighter Drone Shoot, the Attack Cannon Shoot, and the Aircraft Maintenance competitions will also be held tomorrow!

A very exciting day of competition has wrapped up! And despite some food poisoning that was traced back to an off-base Mexican restaurant, all of the pilots were able to suit up and get into the air.
Round 2 of the head to head fighter competition was held today – 2 sorties for each pilot, and now we have 4 fighter pilots left in the running for top fighter pilot: A Chrisdom F-8, a BSDF JAS-39, and two ROD F-16s. Tomorrow these pilots will compete for the top fighter pilot trophy!
The lead was flying out on there today for the fighter pilot drone shoot-down competition and the attack pilot cannon shoot competition.
Fighter Pilot Drone Shoot:
1st Place: Chrisdom Composite Squadron, AV-8, Aircraft #3
2nd Place: Chrisdom Composite Squadron, F/A-18, Aircraft #7
3rd Place: BSDF Composite Squadron, JAS-39, Aircraft #3
Attack Pilot Cannon Shoot:
1st Place: BSDF Composite Squadron, BAE Hawk, Aircraft #9
2nd Place: BSDF Composite Squadron, BAE Hawk, Aircraft #12
3rd Place: Chrisdom Composite Squadron, A-4, Aircraft #4
The squadron maintenance competition was also held today, with the ROD’s 9th Fighter Squadron winning top honors.
Tomorrow will be another exciting day with the live bomb drop ad the conclusion of the fighter head to head competition!

This is an exciting time, says Col Rockingham-Sjaid, to be able to shoot down drones so well. The US military and other allies use a Patriot missile at $3,000,000 to shoot down a $200-300 drone. We use a AIM-9x or RAM. Only a couple of hundred thousand dollars vs. $3 million. What a savings. Let the bad guys go to Amazon, eBay and Best Buy for the drones, we will drop them. I personally like going in for the kill with my 20mm rattling away.
..
"Our two best pilots were sick from that Mexican resturant, they were running, err excuse me, had the runs...." Such is the competition. Delighted to work with those Balzac guys, ROD guys are quiet, a bit stuffy in my opinion. We shall see what tomorrow holds.

The teams wrapped early today! The attack bomb drop was a huge success with very few accidental injuries. Here are the results:
1st Place: ROD VF-11, F-4, Aircraft #10
2nd Place: Chrisdom Composite Squadron, A-6, Aircraft #4
3rd Place: Chrisdom Composite Squadron, A-4, Aircraft #1
Also today was the grand finale of the fighter pilot head to head competition. Bragging rights for being the top fighter pilot for 2017 go to the pilot of BSDF JAS-39 aircraft #5!
2nd Place: Chrisdom Composite Squadron, F-8, Aircraft #4
3rd Place: ROD 9th Fighter Squadron, F-16, Aircraft #9
The pilots will be steering clear of the local Mexican restaurants tonight as they get some rest and prepare for tomorrow’s grand air war. The scenario has changed this year since we have fewer squadrons participating. Rather than dividing the competitors into opposing groups, they will all be working together against an ROD carrier air wing. The ROD aircraft carrier Tempest is returning from deployment and is currently steaming off the coast. The carrier and its battle group will be the target for tomorrow morning, and her fighters will put up a formidable defense!

The Pilot from The CoC, that finished 2nd, Lt Jaque Barte, said, "Capt Johanssann is so gifted, he flies at a different level even when we are at the same altitude. Hesome how can predict the future of the opposing pilot and movement of the plane. I know he was in position every time I made a move, he is amazing. I do not think you can train that ability, that skill, it is a gift that Johanssann is blessed with."
.
Lt Barte, also added, "I hope that we get the new fighters, the upgrades coming online, the F-35s. Fortunately, I will be training on the F35 in two weeks. I know some have already been deployed, but I want more than 3 months in the plane before coming to this incredible competition and training exercise. ROD is a wonderful host, they are doing a great job."
