That's a good system for sure. Haven't played it in years and when a guy I know up in my area, we played Hafid Ridge from the CD book Bengahzi Handicap...never finished off the battle due too time, but yeah...it was fun :D

Your welcome on the terrain...looked like it took alot of time to make. I myself had thought about that type of setup, but storage is the issue for me.

Doug

Yes, Test of Battle! Oh cool, Benghazi is a good book with lots of info in it. I hope to someday start the campaign inside that book. Looks like fun.

Terrain does take some time. I try to set up a manufacturing line to minimize time. Storage can be an issue. I use old fan boxes (larger sized) to house all of my hexes as I stack them together inside. And then stack the fan boxes on top of each other in the corner of the garage. Now that I have a Vietnam terrain setup, it is even more boxes now… But as you build more, it can get out of control.

Yes it is...BH is full of stuff...I think about 12 scenarios as well, plus lots of info on the different forces in that theater.

Well, all I can say with your terrain is it's very nice and looks good :D

No one seems to be posting any AARs anymore.
Just to get this message back up here is a couple of links to flickr AARs that I did in the last year:
First is a Dec 44 game with Panzer units attempting to take on a heavy Pak front
https://www.flickr.com/photos/6mmgaming ... 3267202051

Second was a Belgium/Holland border fight pre Market Garden:

Hope to see some more reports soon.

Hi Mark

Those 2 games look really excellent. Thanks for sharing them. Once again you did a couple of battles that are just a bit off the wall but that is part of the appeal.

I plan to do a couple of Mein Panzer games in the fall. I will try to get some pictures of those posted.

Ran a solo AIW 67 War scenario loosely based on the Battle of Jeradi Pass:

Battlefield looking west from Israeli entry point:

Image

Israeli Forces consist of M48 Patton Company, Centurion Company, Paratroop Infantry company in Halftracks and Recon Platoon of jeeps and halftracks.

Image

Pattons cross the L/D:

Image

Image

Cents engage Egyptian Infantry positions and start to take losses from dug in AT guns:

Image

Image

While Pattons swing around the left flank and trade shots with the AT guns

Image

Air support arrives to take out the dug in AT guns with some success and make the ultimate sacrifice:

Image

Image

Image

The Israeli tanks and paras destroy the Egyptian reserves and move through the west end of the pass winning the battle:

Image

Image

Image

It was a bloody battle with the Israelis losing 7 of 11 Centurions, 6 of 11 Pattons, the entire recon platoon and 1 Mystere.

The Egyptians lost the better part of an infantry company, 6 dug in 100mm AT Guns, 2 of 3 SU100s, 2 SU57s and all 10 T34/85s.

Rules were WRG and scale was 1mm = 1M
Tactics are the opinion of the senior officer present.

Really nice AAR.

I love the terrain and your destroyed vehicle markers look great.

Great battle by the looks of things.

Thanks for posting,

Looks good CavDog...nothing like seeing an Israeli force take a beating and still win in the end... :D

A quick throw-together game at the club. Rules are Fistful of TOWS III. Forces are super vanilla (tanks and guns only) to help players learn the basics of the rules. Trying them out on the familiar WW2, then we'll see if the club is up for a Team Yankee game with the much beloved Soviet Hordes. (A member has 3 tank brigades he's itching to play with).

Cav- love the terrain, smoke markers and minis

Crispy - assuming the Russians you posted before when you were painting them? Minis look great and would like to know what you think of that game system for WW2? I am unfamiliar with it although I've seen it referenced quite a bit...

Thanks for sharing and keeping the forum interesting!!

Yup - they've seen action a few times since.

I'm introducing FFT3 to the club using WW2 minis as that is what I own. But they want to game moderns and I offered to teach this system.

So far it has been very well received. The individual mechanics are all very simple, but taken together they make for a rich game. The QRS is a bit of a mess (I made a new one and posted it on the FFT Yahoo group). It is at the level of one stand = one platoon or half company, but I play it at 1:1 exactly as written.
