Exercise "Paistettu ankka" will take place next Month and members of the BSDF are preparing to deploy to the South.
The exercise will take place in the Country of Yer Bouti in cooperation with local defence forces. As Winter closes in here in Balzac the deployment South is seen as a welcome break by the forces involved.
The exercise will see the deployment of one Rimbey class corvette and one U212 type submarine along with small watercraft and Marines from the 1st Bat Marine Korps.
Also members from units of the 16 AOG(Air Operations Group) will be flown in.
The small Country of Yer Bouti has a defence agreement with Balzac.

After the departure of the Balzac Ship Rimbey along with the submarine Ranchland, the pair head South at 15 knots. Some 250km off shore the ships helicopter returns to the mainland.
The corvette lacks an enclosed hangar for the 3000km plus sea passage South so it was planned to airlift the AS565 Panther via C130.
The helicopter is a tight fit but will pack down into the Herc.
The advanced party flys out on1 Dec withe 4 more C130 and one 727 lift over the next few days.
The exercise is a Navy/Marine littoral control operation with a limited number of personnel and equipment. Some elements of the shore component will be run as a CP(command Post) ex.
Yesterday the advance party left the snow covered Balzac AFB and headed South.
Today a C130 departed in the morning carrying elements of the command signals group.
Later in the afternoon a second C130 carrying the packed down AS565 Panther and air/ground crew followed the same route.
Saturdays schedule is for one C130 with a mix of command, signal and medical.
Then a second Herc with elements of an air defence troop(RBS 70) and a Marine coastal battery(Spike ER).
Sunday should see a BSDF Boeing 727 with the bulk of the Marine manpower.
Phase 1 of the exercise will cover an approach to contact on the shores of Yer Bouti.
A pre exercise briefing is held with staff from the Yer Bouti National Guard at a BSDF command post set up near their main airport. . Their small patrol boats were gifted from Balzac many years ago and is all that passes for their maritime force.
The BSDF is tasked to land two recce groups on targets provided by the YBNG in a time slot of 36-48 hours.
The YBNG has very limited Soviet era radar and air defence.
With the task group still a few hundred km away the AS565 helicopter flys out to meet the corvette. The task group commander has requested a maritime ISR update from BSDFHQ before they near the Yer Bouti 200km EEZ.
A multi mission aircraft is dispatched from Balzac, flys the 3000km to within 70km of the Yer Bouti coast. Real time data is passed to the task group and command post of the general and target areas.
The aircraft then returns the 3000km to Balzac without refueling.
Due to poor weather (into our second week of -30 windchill in Balzac), local incidents and limited manpower.
The BSDF media unit is unable to cover the Exercise "Paistettu ankka" in a timely manner.
Ex "Paistettu ankka" has ran smooth and is now in the second phase(Littoral control & ship boarding).
We hope to be able to update over the holiday period
The third and final phase (Coastal defence) of the exercise has come to an end.
All resources of the task group combined to defend two large areas of the coast.
Sea, land, air and sub surface forces used ambush, delay, decoy, fire and moment to meet the required goals of the exercise.
After a few days R&R most elements are now returning to Balzac.
The attached air defence, control/signal elements and coastal artillery (Spike ER) units all used newer Land Rover, G wagon and Unimog vehicles.
However the Milan AT teams and the bulk of the Marines are still forced to use the very old Bv202's.
They are planed to be replaced in 2017 by better Bv206's.
Exercise "Paistettu ankka 2" long planned for the end of June has been bought forward.
Elements of the Balzac Self Defence Force are preparing to deploy for the Country of Yer Bouti ahead of schedule.
The BS Defence Force are down playing mounting security concerns in the region saying the long planned exercise is a follow on from the very successful deployment last year.
Page 9 of the Jakarta Post has carried an unconfirmed article detailing the 2016 Ex "Paistettu ankka" by Balzac as nothing more than a sensor laying exercise on friendly States.
Short on details but long on accusations the article implies that the Balzac State has planted a small but potent chain of modern sensors on many Countries both friend and foe.
Perth, Singapore, 3 Chinese ports and Monaco are mentions in the article.
The Balzac Government declined comment but did say "Paistettu ankka 2 " is ongoing and is a maritime exercise to improve command control and situational awareness for the State of Balzac.
Conducted 6 fly-over sorties from F-35s in the Recon role from the Canberra, simultaneous operation with 3 EC-130J. 2 AC-130 were airborne on-call if any nefarious targets were identified on the live feed back to South Morrocodom HQ. This was supported by rescue crews should that be needed. 8 other F-35s were armed and ready should any issue arise.
Concern with the Balzac State landing forces, appearing to build up the existing base for a permanent station for their troops. Certainly after Balzac sensors were found at various places in the Commonwealth. Asst Chief of Staff over Intel was asked about this act of war, but General Smigeon replied it is not an act of war, just an annoyance. We have had a great relationship with Balzac State and expect to continue.going forward both in a military and economic basis.
Some of our sensors being detected since there was a change in operational tempo in Yer Bouti. Detected AFV from both Yer Bouti and Balzac. Leopard 2s were observed in some numbers, indicating a significant operation is to be conducted. Also identified similar numbers of CV90 vehicles, probably 40mm weapon system, AA and twin Arty vehicles.
.
This is alarming, is an arms race to be initiated by Balzac and Yer Bouti? In the south of Morrocodom, the M47E2 and the AMX30B2 will not be able to handle the heavy armor of the Balzac Republic. A SWOT assessment is being conducted. The ocean and air lines-of-communication are being observed and evaluated.
The Balzac Department of Fisheries and Oceans has confirmed that equipment found in the Mediterranean last week was most likely that belonging to a Balzac based charity "Whales for Peace".
The non government organization has been conducting a program to monitor the movement of sea mammals.
A spokeswoman for the group said embarrassment at the loss of the equipment had prevented it from being report in a timely manner. We regret any inconvenience and misunderstanding caused.
"We believed we had found a rare pod of Balzac blue whales in the Western Med and in the excitement some of our recording gear seems to have got snagged on the FLAG (Fiber-Optic Link Around the Globe) cable".
The minister at the F & O is conducting a review of the NGO's practices and will report to parliament in due course
Not sure how any ** CENSORED ** was conducted by the Moving Whales Group. Any we pulled up was military grade. If any one wants a piece of a whale, you are welcome to it.
Still concerned about the Balzac militia and military and para-military (Female Whales included).
Balzac strategy is to plant groups to lead countries across the globe for influence and wealth. Fight utilizing surrogate forces.
The Balzac Foreign Minister strongly dismisses any notion of a strategy to influence any Country or administration in any region.
He did once again stress the long standing good commercial and diplomatic interaction between the Cof C and Balzac and down played any notion of sanctions as mentioned in the European media.
He did say "However we do have a commitment to the small Nation of Yer Bouti and we have said from the start that we will help them maintain control over their Internationally recognized boarders".
The announcement came on the same day that "Wikidrips" said it was about to release a huge cache of intercepted e-mails between Southern Europe and Marrocodom know as the Creekstrand Fansua tapes.
