Here's a few 'Alpha' types. Still working on the painting. Looks better across the room :)

I probably should post this on the terrain thread...

Here's some pictures of the barricades in use (kinda Twilight 2000). I wanted it grudgy looking and at a distance its not half bad.

And a few individual sections (yes, the red pieces are coke/beer/red bull cans)

Not too hard to make, painting took most of the time. For some reason the phone camera caused the yellow to glow . . . weird.

Now off the the next thing before I finish packing . . . . where did I place the plans for the Space Battleship Yamato?

They did turn out half decent. I plan do more later on the order of small cluster of blocks, I looked up concrete barricades and there is more than a few companies that make large ball types. All in all they turned out 40k meets Mad Max meets any modern urban setting.

Quartette: I tried to locate some corrugated metal plastic sheets with no luck so I improvised. Back in the late 80s I bought a couple of stackable CD holders, The sides are ribbed about right for Z scale so I made a relief with Insta-Mold. I then use my old standby of LocTite Repair Putty flattened to about 0.5mm. I use a single edge razor to cut and a large file to bevel the edges thin. I advise to take it outside when you file, you'd never believe the amount of dust such a small object can generate :) If anyone has a better idea please share it.

Oh wow that sounds trickier than expected. Its kind of surprising that n scale corrugated iron is so hard to come by.

For the iron sheeting is there a cardboard you could pull apart and use that?

I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to me there is a good way to make your own corrugated metal sheets in scale.

Cut thin wire (thickness selected to match spacing of corrugations) into sections, length equal to the length of the corrugated sheet desired.
Glue wire sections to rigid form, side-by-side, until width is equal to that of desired sheet of corrugated metal.
Repeat to make another identical set of wire lengths.
Place this sheet of metal foil (thin wrapping foil, foil from cigarette pack if you are a smoker, etc) between the two forms.
Press together. This should emboss the foil with parallel grooves, just like corrugated sheet metal.
Yes, it will be flimsy, but so is corrugated metal in scale.
If anyone tries this, let me know how it works.

For corrugated metal sheets visit a model railroad shop There are companies that make corrugated metal sheets to scale. Z scale should serve your need at 1:285 scale. I found some in a shop in Santa Clara a couple of months ago.

About 18 - 20 years ago, I did some kitbashing for Type 89 IFV for Japan, used CinC Roland hull with GHQ Scimitar turret. Now GHQ produces it. The Type 90 tank, I used to use some other manufacturer as the stand in.
.
Now I am working on MLRS reload trailers. Umm, wonder if GHQ will produce those this year.
.
I have been kitbashing for the Patria AMV since I have wanted those for years. Wonder if these will be released by GHQ.

I have tons of great ideas for kit bashing and scratch building. Unfortunately, my imagination far exceeds my actual modeling skill so most of my ideas either never happen or they get thrown out in frustration.

I did recently make a decent Q36 radar though. I used the generator trailer and some putty to fill it in. Then a little block of balsa wood with a piece of car stock for the antenna. Now I'm trying to figure out how to make a Q37!
