Bulk-Up September

Post by Donald M. Scheef »

This is the month for posting your paint jobs on heavy tanks (and related vehicles) and engineering types.
Alternately, showcase your ships (or for a bit more specific topic, escort types and submarines).

I don’t have much in the way of this category, just some recovery and engineer vehicles. I have many fond memories of the M88. The mechanics always seemed so pleased with themselves when they smashed into things with it. I remember my battery driving around Korea in the middle of the night and all of the vehicles would cross a bridge….except for the big heavy M88. The M88 had to blast through the ice of the frozen-over ford to get across the river. They seemed to really enjoy that!

Hey uh, Sarge, I don't think this is the right spot. River seems a little wide here...

Hey LT, I don't see that AT Trench we're supposed to bridge. Did you fill it in already?

We'll have a lane through this minefield right away!

I've got some other bridgelayers and bulldozers but they're from another company and out of respect for our hosts will not appear in this thread.

Here are a pair of Maus tanks. They've been hanging around the house for a while.

edit: forgot to add the E-100 tanks. The cammo is unrealistic but it was fun to paint.

Cav and Redleg I like your vehicles especially the detail on the bogies and tracks.

Gub your camp scheme looks very cool. Historical or not I’d keep going with it.

I always liked the "Octopus" Camo scheme:

I didn't realize it when I took the pictures but it fits remarkably well with the Hotz Matz plowed field.
