The Royal Canadian Navy does make use of Helicopters in the form of Sea knights and Sea Kings so we need a good vessel to carry such helicopters with. as for hospital ships we have converted liners provided by the Canadian Pacific Steamship company such as the HMCHS Empress of Australia or HMCHS Empress of Scotland.

1st SHAM departed from Naval Station Saint Catherine this morning on its maiden voyage. They are heading to South America first to provide vaccinations and preventive medical clinics, though they will be able to provide additional assistance if warranted and needed. Basically, 1st SHAM is following the time-honored ROD tradition of making it up as they go along.

Here are the Ares and Odysseus steaming south-east, just outside of ROD territorial waters.

Which part of South America is the SHAM fleet going? As in a report made by the frigate HMCS Edmonton of local pirate attacks near Brazil and Chile. And to expect ships from the pirate Goverment of tortuga to intercept and raid any vessels exiting the Panama Can-al.

'Those damn pirates... they rape, pillage, & plunder. Thats what they did to several ships of the Royal Canadian Navy and their crew. It was sad.

Not just Canadian ships but ships from various nations as well, they mostly target Civilan ships but attacks on navy ships can happen mainly just to steal the warship to add to there ever growing fleet.

Thanks for the warning. We're just making it up as we go along, but perhaps we will make a point of visiting Brazil and Chile. Killing same pirates seems like it falls into the realm of humanitarian assistance. One of our ships is a hospital ship, but the Ares is a fully functional warship with a full complement of military helicopters.

Alright but be on your guard as these pirates are pretty well organized, information on what ships they have is sketchy at best, but it is rumoured that they possess Battleships... And possibly a Gearld R Ford class carrier.

1st SHAM is in action today in eastern Colombia, near the Venezuelan border. Thousands of Venezuelans continue to flee into neighboring Colombia to seek food and medicine. Venezuela’s government is still refusing to allow tons of supplies that are staged along the border into the country.

1st SHAM’s medical company has established a clinic, with Colombia’s permission, to treat Venezuelan refugees and provide basic preventive medicine. Most of the care is being provided in the clinic, but those that are gravely ill and those in need of more advanced diagnostic procedures are being flown by helicopter to the hospital ship Odysseus.

Members of the security company have also gone ashore to provide local security and manage pedestrian and foot traffic at the clinic. The engineer company is working with locals to drill wells and build a sanitation system that will service the clinic and the nearby village.

That's a vehicle belonging to a local farmer. Same with the jeep out front. I guess I need to invest in some civilian vehicles if I want to hang out with them!

1st SHAM continues its mission in Colombia today, providing medical support and security for Venezuelan refugees, as well as local Colombians. The engineer company is putting the finishing touches on the structure for a permanent medical clinic while the medical and HQ elements work with the local government to ensure that staffing and supplies are in place to take over when the ROD personnel leave in the next few days.

In addition, the security company has been evaluating its two light armor platforms in jungle conditions. This deployment is a test of the SHAM concept, and that includes deciding which equipment is best suited to the task.

Hoplite Tactical Solutions is a private military company that was founded by several ROD veterans in 2015. The company has made a name for itself through several contracts in the middle east and is attracting ex-special operations soldiers from around the world. Approximately 70% of Hoplite’s operators are from the ROD military, while the other 30% consist of personnel from the US, Britain, Ireland, and other nations.

Pictured here is a Hoplite team unassing from helicopters on a mission somewhere in the northern Syria / Turkey / Iraq area.

Those Hoplites are real warriors. Look great. Like the blades on the UH-1.
Chicovia-dom on SW of Turkey and Armenia-dom NW of Turkey will watch out for these guys. Have two friends there if they get into trouble. Also Country of Tripoli-dom, north of Israel stands ready.
