The 15th Infantry Battalion at Fort Grant is also seeing some protests near the ROD base. The local populace seemed to welcome the ROD's presence at first, but after several days the crowds have grown and the sentiments are mixed. Many Panamanians continue to welcome international protection, but others are protesting what they call Imperial Occupation. ROD forces are not confronting the protesters, but they have observed the anti-ROD crowd bullying others and forcing them away from the base gate.
The battalion commander paid a visit to the communities of La Boca and El Chorillo today, accompanied by a security detail and a Mexican Army observer. The group met with community leaders to reassure them that the ROD, CoC, ad US are here to secure the can*al. During the discussions the ROD officers learned that the protesters may be planning an attack against the ROD or CoC bases.

US forces into Venezuela
US forces have sent in an observation/strike group of helicopters accompanied with F-15 and F-16 aircraft. Some of the F-16 are in the Wild Wiesel role with HARM missiles. Off the coast is a navy task force including US Marines and rescue team.
Some AH-1 W did identify T-55 and T-62 tanks at the airport, 4 tanks were parked in the middle of the runway and at the gates and toward the end of the runways. Authorization to fire TOW missiles on the tanks at the gates, 3 were hit of which 2 erupted in a fireball.
When the USMC helicopters showed up near the city and towns, it appears that everyone is armed with an AK-47, as hundreds... thousand are firing in the air at the helicopters. Several injuries were sustained because of the all the rounds in the air. The helos egress ed the area returning to the ships.
.
In the Panama Legislative Assembly several member spoke of the benefits of the 3 nations that are now working in the forts and preparing to defend the waterway. Yet a few others spoke of the imperialism being displayed.

Secure SatCom message set to ROD Ministry of Defense, then relayed to commander, ROD Carrier Battle Group 8 (Theater Commander). The commander of the 15th Infantry Battalion (LTC Fraizer) choppers out to the carrier for a meeting with the Admiral, video conferenced to the Minister of Defense (The Honorable Magnus McHammerhands).
LTC Fraizer choppers from the carrier straight to the US headquarters to meet with US and CoC commanders to discuss the threat and the unified rules of engagement. Looking at options to clear the waterway in the event that a ship is sunk or damaged.
F Company, ROD Marine Regiment, is flying in to Fort Grant to reinforce 15th Infantry. The rest of 2nd Marine Battalion is on standby.
Personnel from 25th Infantry's S2, S5, and FSE shops are out in La Boca and El Chorillo again today seeing what intel they can get from the locals. They brought some cigars and some cash to see if that will help. Discussing the possibility of contracts fror locals around the base.

The plan is to have 2 significant movement groups, smallest of which is brigade strength in size. The 22nd Mech Brigade moving from Georgetown westward to the border area that juts in Venezuela, transported by several convoys utilizing trucks. Convoys lead by AMX-10RC and VABs. Tank haulers carrying tanks, tracked IFV & artillery.
. There are rumors that Venezuelan forces have entered Guyana, but all that have been researched have proven to be false.
. Assault landing craft have landed in Guyana for the 15th Mech Brigade. The 15th Mech Bde sent one battalion a few miles up the little Barama River. It utilized smaller landing craft. Air cover and recon is taking place. The 15th main force is Brigade has most of brigade entering near the coast of Guyana and the border of VZ.
. Humanitarian trucks are moving from George town behind the lead military vehicles.

"Patrols by boat, helicopter, plane and some by ground vehicles have occurred and continue to take place to protect shipping and trade. This manpower is slowing down the build up of the military bases", said LtGen Clark.

Forces are moving forward to within about a mile of the border with VZ and Guyana. Building up the Lager (as called in SADF). The battalion strength group is to be re-positioned since the terrain is too thick with trees, brush and water obstacles and swap areas. It has been unable to find a suitable route. SOMEONE left the some of the maps on the ship, was there a butt chewing!!! Moving about 4 miles north so preparing to advance with the brigade.
. The southern prong is still needing more time to get all the personnel & material there and organized.
.
Panama
In the Panama Waterway, on Gatun Lake, which was artificially created in 1913, there was an attack on a large yacht. Video and eyewitness accounts report that two small motor boats approached the Yacht, The Gazebo, registered in Jax, FL, USA. John Hightower, MD was with his wife and two other couples. He had the boat custom built, "we were on the first real trip taking to Los Angeles, CA where I live and practice. Then these two boat approach, I thought something was wrong so I slow down, they start shooting... uhhhh, oh my gosh... My wife, Shirley, was on the bridge with me,... she was waving to them, those men... they shot her. Dr. Thomas was also hit on the deck, but he will be okay. They fired more and more into the boat. Shirley died a few minutes later, there was not anything I could do.... They took off as quick as they had arrived. I don't know what to do."

The people that survived the attack while on Gutan Lake have flown back to CA, USA, getting ready to conduct a funeral for the dead. The news will be there, they were flocked with reporters and camera upon landing in LA. Truly, a sad event for them. It is rumored that there is bounty on the heads of those involved. Not sure who is ponied up the money, rumor it is $100,000, perhaps more dead or alive.
.
Venezuela
The Commonwealth forces are in place and prepared, Two prongs start the advance. Drones looking for Al Kabab, ISIS, and Communists and any other bad guys. You know who you are. Crossed the border at 10am local times. Both groups have come across civilians walking to and fro, some with their oxen & wagon, going to the market as they were passed. They were inspected and vegetables were bought from them. For Group B on the southern prong, rumor is that there are soldiers in a village about 2 miles ahead.
Drones indicated a lack of any military or armed men.women in the village, Dong Hut. As the armor and APCs advanced, troops did dismount to inspect the village. There is not any recent evidence of Al Kabab, etc in the village of Dong Hut for some time.
.
The US is expanding to Ft. Gutan on Lake Gutan. It will serve primarily as an airbase and logistics. It will have fighters, fighters-bombers, e-lint, cargo transport ASW, ESW, etc. The US will take the largest stake of the air bases. It will be open to ROD and the CoC.

As the CoC forces moved forward into Venezuela from Guyana, about 3 miles in an AML-60 hit a mine, blowing off a tire, killing the driver and wounding the vehicle commander. The southern convoy stopped for 2 hours setting up a different travel sequence. They moved 3 Husky mine detection vehicles up front, 3 Casspirs armed with .50 cal and LMG along with a small squad of men in each, they were following the Husky vehicles. 40 meters behind them are a couple of Ratels and Rooikat 105 vehicles, to provide support if any fire fight develops. Then the remaining convoy. 4 KM further up the road, the road split into two, the convoy taking the northern road, a better dirt road, more traveled. Probably more Al-Kabas to meet on the road. 42 minutes later, whoosh.... an RPG was fired hitting the dirt infront of a Husky. Two more RPG were fired... one hitting the large scanning device in the front, the other RPG hit right below the cab where the drive sits.... He lost a leg in the explosion, the Husky eased to the left of the road into the ditch. The .50s on the 3 Casspirs opened up firing into the woods in the direction of the back-blast from the RPGs, small arms fire began shooting at the front of the convoy. 3 more RPG shots, almost random fire it appeared, as the gunners were being fired at.
. The northern convoy had Casspirs up front loosing a wheel, 2 suffered injuries but remain with the convoy. The Casspir was put on a trailer taken back later in the morning with small escort.
.
Ft Sherman
4 rocket rounds were fired at the base, three that hit in the perimeter, one of which hit the roof of a building being worked on, 2 wounded painters in the room just below and 1 roofer died while taking a break in the hot sun. He friends scattered, could not get them back to work today.

Ft. Gutan: The US is allowing the Commonwealth to base and operate aircraft at Ft Gutan air base. Several C-130, C-17, and A-300 flew in with crew, parts, manuals, computers, etc. In the late afternoon, from the east 6 B-58 Hustlers and 9 B-52s flew in. 2 hours later, 3 B-52s flew east heading back to Americus. 12 F-4 Phantoms came in sitting on the tarmac to watch the 3 B-52 take off. Another 12 F-4, 18 F-35 A (conventional take-off and landing) are due tomorrow.
. At Ft Sherman, 12 F-35 A, 2 B-58 Hustlers came in. AH-1, CH-47, UH-60 are off-loaded from the cargo ships, and the re-assembly is almost finished. There are about 48 helicopter at Sherman. DDH with escorts has sailed for Ft. Sherman with escorts to bring more aircraft. 4 of the escorts are LCS ships, and 6 smaller Hercules corvettes (similar to Pegasus without hydro-foil).
. Ft. Amador, 12 F-105 Thuds are expected, 20 A-6 and 6 EA-6 Intruders, 14 A-4 are also expected. There will be some movement among the three bases: Ft Sherman, Amador, and Gutan (US).

With the pressure from local police in VZ with the mechanized forces coming in from the east from Guyana in VZ, Al-Kabab is thinking of moving away in the eastern area.
.
As the southern force advanced down the road with the mine detection vehicles closely followed by armored fighting vehicles accompanied by Rooikats and Ratels. The heavy fire from the forces of CoC have taken a toll.
. The convoys were firing on the RPG teams. As these teams put their head down, infantry squads deployed from Ratels fanning to the flanks of the convoy 100 - 200 yards usually. The Drones flew over head to provide intel. The AH-1 Cobras became engaged firing their 70mm Hydra rockets and the 20mm gattlin' gun. As the CoC forces moved up flanking the Al-Kabab men, they were eliminated or captured. In one specific closure on the enemy the Ratel team set up the LMG also firing upon the target RPG team, firing back almost blind. The squad of 9 men advanced upon the 3 in their holes. As they gained a little height being able to look down the sniper was able to eliminate two men. the third was wounded, in the shoulder falling to the bottom of his fox hole. A few grenades were thrown and one fell in and exploded. The attack squad heard a panic scream just before the explosion in the fox-hole. As the convoy assault vehicles moved slowly up the road trying to determine where the enemy was firing or might be located. One ran over an AT mine in the road, destroying the front two axles of the Rooikat without any serious injuries. As Al-Kabab infantry were firing at the advancing flanks, their location was established. Then those men received 20mm, 60mm, 90mm and small arms fire from the vehicles on the road. The Cobras added to the butchery and the dismounted men closed with the enemy. A slow, painful process.
.
Al-Kabab has militia members moving south into Brazil, armed with RPGs, trucks with HMG (units), and a few stolen/captured armored cars.

Over at Fort Grant the number of protesters is decreasing, but the intensity of the protests are getting worse. The ROD troops continue to engage the locals in the surrounding towns and they welcome the investment and security. However, several small militant groups have formed in the area and our intel thinks that they may be operating together and taking orders from one centralized leader.
The ROD personnel making the long drive into La Boca and El Chorillo have had rocks and molotov cocktails thrown at them, and on one occasion they took rifle fire, but there have been no injuries. Fort Grant itself has had protests and rock throwing at the main gate, and yesterday two mortar rounds were fired at the base. There were no injuries and the damage was superficial.
The ROD's main priority continues to be keeping the waterway open to international shipping. 1st SHAM has moved on to Africa, having established a second medical clinic in Colombia near the Venezuela border. Carrier Battle Group 8 continues to operate in the Pacific side of the can*al.

The Canadian and Brazilian Armed forces clash with a huge force of Al-Kabab militants near the border with Brazil, most of the militants seem to be defected Venezuelan army personal using stolen equipment, the fighting lasted for 4 hours before the militants retreated back into Venezuela.
In Panama, CSIS has confirmed what the ROD Intel said, the centralized organization that is ordering these groups and protests, is a Neo-Noriega Movement.
