Seeing that there fellow protesters outside the ship cannot hold off the US/CofC forces for long with the 88 AA gun down and most of there heavy weapons pinned down, preparing to sacrifice themselves for a free Panama and hopefully inspire others to rise up in rebellion aginest the Imperialist/capitalist pigs, the protesters in the hold of the ship said a short prayer and then yelled out "To Noriega and to a Free Panama", the protesters detonated the large amount of explosives in the ship, the ship suddenly erupted in a massive explosion, throwing debris from the ship and the surrounding lock high into the air and began to shower the coalition forces below who where knocked by the huge force of the blast, when the dust and debris finally settled, they see that the part of the lock where the wrecked ship was, is now completely destroyed, it will take a long time to repair the damage done to it.

Ft. Gatun Locks
Within minutes of the large explosion in the ship, called the Dead Knot, or DK,. 6 M60 Bridgelayers on the starboard side approach the edge of the lock, deploying their bridges. 6 CH-47 took off about 400 meters south of the lock where coaches football towers were slung underneath. The were spaced between the bridge-layers. soldiers started climbing the towers. Sling pulley system lift some equipment up quickly.
. Men were crossing the bridges carrying mostly sub-machine guns for rapid change of target and response, a few M-16 and scatter guns. Most of the assault team men went inside the Dead Knot despite the difficult angle of the floor and walls since the ship was leaning to the starboard about 40 degrees. A few members of the assault units went to the top/roof area of the DK. Ropes and zip-lines were fired to the top of the ship from the towers at a downward slope. The men secure the zip lines. More special forces hooked up and crossed the zip line then dropped on the DK.
. As men enter the DK, moving across and down into the bowels of the ship. Checking every nook & cranny, door, window, safe space, hidout, engine compartment, utility closets, shower, As more men cam aboard the search expanded. Most of the people on the ship were dead. Many were hurt and dazed from the blast. Medical personnel also entered to assist those hurt. All weapons, greanade, bombs, C-4, RPGs, etc were secured. Zip lines were fired from the ship to each side of the ship to the ground level at a downward slope. Basket/buckets were attached as the suspected weapons and explosives were put in the buckets and moved down the zip line. The put into large holes dug by construction equipment. C-4 was thrown in to destroy the material from the ship dumped into the hole.
. As assault and rescue teams moved into the hold of the ship, assistance was provided to those hurt and/or wounded on board. They are to be removed asap when the ship is righted.
. In the lock, construction crews applied fast drying concrete and re-bar as needed to holes in the side walls in the few places needed.
. Engineer crews entered the lock on the floor of the lock. Epoxy was applied to all holes, cracks from the explosion on the DK. Over the epoxy, metal sheet welded to the ship with more epoxy. There where small, medium and large holes in the ship along with some cracks from the blast. Epoxy applied over the metal to help seal the ship.
. In the early morning, over the course of several hours, some wounded were able to be removed, sent to the hospital. Water pumped into the lock, then lock doors opened to increase the water in the lock with the SK. Two tugs in Lake Gatun extended towing ropes to the SK, As the water level rose, the ship started to float. Then the tugs started pulling the ship out of the lock and into the lake. About 1/4 mile out of the lock was a floating dry dock that was submerged. as the two tugs pulled the ship one tug moved to the side and the other went through the submerged floating dry dock and then the ship. Slowing down with tug at the bow and one at the stern adjusting the ship. and then stopped movement. The floating dry dock started to rise. Divers set up the apparatus to stabilized the ship in the dry dock.
. In late morning, the east bound was operational as was the west bound traffic.
About 30-40 survivors are being helped. Information is being collected....

Protests have reduced to almost nothing. The rebel enthusiasm has dissipated.
Ship traffic is increasing back to normal, working through the backlog of ships. US Army is still leading the effort in Panama in protection of the waterway, working with subordinate commands of CoC and ROD.

The ROD personnel from Fort Grant are continuing to engage the local population. We have established liaison offices in the towns of El Chorillo and La Boca which are facilitating effective communication and collaboration with the Panamanians. Demonstrations have died off in this area as well. We are hiring Panamanians to help us with routine tasks like construction and sanitation. We have several aircraft that are scheduled to arrive in the coming days which will bring in some construction equipment like dozers, backhoes, and graders. A Spanish-speaking engineering detachment will accompany the equipment. their purpose is to teach locals to use the equipment and then the gear will be a gift to the towns of El Chorillo and La Boca.

As the 5th columns' moved forward into VZ, an 2 mines went off in tandem. On was directly due to rolling over the mine. The second was simultaneous explosion. 20 ft further back from where the vehicle had bypassed already. Ratel 20 was destroyed. 4 dead in the Ratel, 4 wounded, 3 untouched. Later determined to be an pressure point with 4 122mm rounds connected. Ready for an ambush, felt the presence, but no attack. Seemed to disappear. Taking 2 hours to be ready, to look after the destroyed vehicle and the crew. Decision to camp there for the night, Set up pickets and surveillance, sending drones forward down the road and on the flanks and rear areas. A few detected 2 miles away of men on foot going the other way.
.
Ft Sherman
Airbase is fully functional and capable with hanger and repair facilities for aircraft set up. Visits to the US base and visits by US soldiers. See the other bases to see what is working best, gain ideas to improve operations.

In pursuit of Al-Kabab members the convoy that hit the mine/IED is pursuing men on foot and horseback including donkey and mule. Al Kabab went off road as it is more difficult to track with the vehicles and firepower from those vehicles. Use of drones and AH-1 is assisting in this pursuit. Al Kabab set up an ambush with AT on the road. It destroyed an AML-90 killing the driver. In the follow up fire-fight 5 Al-Kabab were killed and 3 wounded that were captured. Two of the three said 5 left the road block as the vehicles arrived up the road in the area. The hit the trail to the south.
. On the trails, drones seem to do more as the terrorist of Al Kabab do not usually hear or see the drones where the AH-1 are noisy. One target group identified, AH-1 come in, will use the 20mm Gatling gun and the 70mm rockets.
. In the most recent engagement, a drone flew over a trail in the wooded area, although it was on at 10% battery remaining. The controller hit the return button, it rose another 30 feet and flew back. Another drone was already airborne, taking 4 minutes to get to the same location. The target group had continued down the path. Another larger drone from a truck and trailer were launched from the catapult launcher and was there about 4 minutes after the second drone had arrived on the scene. Detection and hand-off occurred. Two AH-1 were sent to the area with a recon Loch. The guys walking on the trail did hear the blades of the 3 helicopters coming in. Moving off the trail and into the wooded area crouching. Thermal sights of the AH-1 were used to help determine location of several of the men. Firing the 20mm did hit 2. The OH helo did keep on task to ID targets and direct the AH-1. The 2nd AH-1 piloted by WO Jaques flew in closer to work to get a better sighting. Fired 3 then 2 more rockets, then 2 more, then 1 more rocket. 8 of the 12 rockets in that pod were fired. The HE explosions did kill 2 more. 3 rockets hit trees when then sent wood chip shrouds down, hitting 3 others, killing 1 more. Then he opened his 20mm when two guys got up to run. They were run down by the fire and dropped dead. It was hot pursuit to find some of these guys. Some shot back without result. 20mm goes through a human body much easier than 7.62 through light armored helo.
.
the US sent out Apache AH-64 to look for Al-Kabab in northern VZ. Search and Destroy was unsuccessful. Did not find any credible targets.

ROD engineers have arrived with some heavy equipment. After 2 days of training on the operation of heavy construction equipment, Panamanian workers are operating graders and dozers along the road to Fort Grant. The are improving the road to handle heavier vehicles and install culverts to control water runoff. ROD engineers are supervising the work and paratroopers from 15th infantry battalion are providing security, which does not seem to be needed.

Large flight of 12 C-130, 4 C-17 and 6 tankers escorted by 16 JAS-39 Grippin aircraft flew across the Atlantic conducting attack mission on Ft. Sherman at the mouth of the Panama Waterway. Dropping men on the base for an attack. The 'defenders' had about a 20 minute warning to respond. Men were landing about the runway, the docks and the magazines. The defenders had to go to retrieve weapons, organize to defend the base. The initial attack was successful since it was a surprise with 20 minute warning. As the assault continued it was being pushed back without reinforcements. Referees and judges were out to determine any issues not specifically cleared by the MILES system. The planes landed at airbase at Ft. Gatun a few minutes later.
. The evaluation of the attack and defense is being conducted to learn what went well and what could be improved upon.

6 Ocean going barges landed at Ft. Sherman with each carrying patrol craft. Two were carrying Visby, two were carrying Pegasus hydrofoil and two were carrying Hercules patrol craft, which is similar to a Pegasus, but does not have a hydrofoil option. It has a lower operating cost. 8 LCS ships did escort the barges into port. 2 others followed along. 4 are planned to move through the Waterway with 3 barges to Ft. Amador with identical boat arrangement.

Al-Kabab members set 2 81mm mortars, each fired 4 HE rounds into Pacaraima, Brazil. This was a place targeted since this town sent people fleeing VZ back to Venezuela, not giving aid.to those that left VZ looking for food and a better life or even aid. The mortar rounds wounded two civilians and a soldier.

Off the coast of Panama from Ft. Amador a few of the patrol boats that had been there for a few weeks are to take longer distance patrols. The recently arrive boats are put in the water and may patrol for several hours or a day, but close to shore for now.
. A Hercules Patrol boat, H-14, (Pegasus without hydrofoil). armed with 76mm gun, can carry up to 8 Harpoon missiles and 2 .50 cal. is on patrol. From Jurado 4 boast take off heading west. On its radar west by 30 NM detects 4 boats moving quickly at 30 knots.. As it increases speed to intercept NW it starts to close the gap since its traveling at 40 knots. As it is within 4 miles it sees the 4 boats, cigarette boats. The four boats increase speed as the sea is calm, moving to 50 knots, then 55 knots, almost 60 knots. The H-14 increase speed to 44 knots, fires the 76mm gun as a warning.... firest again. The cigarette boats separate into 2 pair of boats. The large gas tanks on the stern (similar to Russian MBT fuel tanks) and released and they fall in the sea. The Cigarette boast then increase speed to above 60 knots, these boats must be heavily loaded.... uhmm. The boats do speed away. The 4 boats were called into the US Navy and Customs. Later 1 of the boats was captured and another was sunk with .50 rifle fire and catching fire. The other two reportedly went into the Gulf of California.
.
Later at Ft Sherman, discussions take place on the course of action to take: ideas evaluated, use helicopters, planes, and patrol craft as Hercules, LCS and Pegasus craft. the assets will need to work together.

The Cigarette boats run by the drug cartels have been an issue with the patrol boats trying to keep up with them after leave Columbia.
.
Panama
A Visby was on patrol north of Columbia in the Pacific, its crew detected on radar 3 cigarette boats moving at a fast clip, It accelerated to meet the two boats, which veered to the port and starboard to fly past the Visby. The two boats increase speed to 50 knots. The Visby accelerated to above 40 knots, unable to catch up, it fired 6 warning shots from the 57mm gun on the bow.
. 20 miles west of the sighting of the Visby, a Pegasus (PHM 4) was waiting, It acquired the two Cigarette boats on radar and moved a 14 knots to the west to try to intercept the closer of the two boats, When within 5 miles it fired its 76mm gun 3 times. PHM 4 increased speed on the hydrofoils to 50 knots, firing the 76mm gun across the bow and then to the starboard side of the boat to help the Cigarette crew know they were within range, which caused them to increase speed to 72 knots to start to out run the PHM. The PHM fired over a dozen more shots getting closer and closer. The order was given to fire on the boat to hit it, to take it out prior to it getting out of range. The shots got closer, the boat slowed, turned ... accelerated.. splashes further away.... re-acquired... 5-6 more shots... set to air burst at 20 feet..... as the range increased holes were put into the hull... the cigarette turned north then back west at speed. The 76mm gun jammed.... ahhhhh ((poop))) !!! It was decided to get clearance to fire a Harpoon as the PHM was carrying 4. It took 6 minutes for clearance. A Harpoon was fired at a range of 6 miles.... it did impact the cigarette boat, essentially destroying it, killing the 3 crew members on board. . The other cigarette boat was tracked on radar about 12 miles away, the request to fire a Harpoon was denied.
. Evaluation of this event and a few other encounters with Cartel boats has lead to the conclusion that there must be a better way either with helicopters and the type of boats we have for intercept and/or a faster boat. Also there is discussion to arm the patrol boats with Hellfire missiles that may be laser guided, optical siting of the missiles with data link for control and 'fire and forget' missiles. Another option is to put helicopters on the LCS and Visby craft, perhaps an AH-1 Cobra or smaller AH like a Tiger.

The two military Hunt & Kill groups moving into country have found only a few small Al-Kabab groups with quick fire fights. Usually with Al-Kabab disappearing into the woods, prior to armored vehicles coming up for the heavy firepower. Have collected 11 bodies and 8 wounded Al-Kabab over the last 10 days. From questioning of the survivors, we have been able to determine that they do not really wish to fight a Hunt & Kill Battle Group (HK group). More of a screen for Al-Kabab as they conduct other operations against the people of VZ and fight the government of VZ.
.
A freighter was transiting through the Panama Waterway. As random check & inspection of the paperwork and the ship the ship was docked while on Lake Gatun. Large, very large stash of cocaine was found, about 2 tons. The ship is being off loaded for complete inspection of cargo. A desk officer at the Waterway Transit Group new Ft. Sherman was last scene going to lunch at 10:30. His car was moved and was found 5 hours later outside of town. The next day his body was recovered along with a known friend of his that provides contract security services to the Panama Waterway.

As our northern armored group continued into VZ, they came across 3 M36 Jackson Tank Destroyers opened fire at a distance of about a mile against Elands. Two burst into flames when hit an Eland 60 and Eland 90. exploded. Upon those two exploding, a Rooikat 105 came up firing on a M36. Brazil
With the situation at the Brazilian border under control due to no further reports of Al-Kabab militants attacking in the past several weeks, the Canadian Military's top commanding officers on the field held a meeting to discuss how the operation is going and though a 5-1 vote they decided that the mission here is a success and began preparations to leave the country bidding farewell to there Brazilian counterparts before loading up all of the Canadian forces troops and equipment onboard there ships and left the port of Rio bound to Halifax Nova Scotia. Brazil thanked us for helping to secure there borders and will notify us if anything changes.

Brazil,
Bomb explodes in Boa Vista, Brazil, near the border with VZ and Guyana.
BSNNN (Brazil Sh**t National News Network) reporting: "a bomb went off in a local market where people were buying their food, clothes, things they need. Police are now saying that the local police were targeted as it was a location where police cars usually part, frequently with officers in them. The bomb was under a police car, destroying it and 4 other cars. No reported deaths, 17 taken to the hospital for medical treatment."
"Security forces are blaming Bal-Kabab, the Brazilian branch of Al-Kabab. It appears to be timed with the announcement that Canadian military are in Brazil and are leaving the country to return to Canada. The Canadian military and Brazil announced that the border had been closed. But people have been saying that many other people including Al-Kabab have been moving across the border freely on small trails and paths. The only way to seal the boarder is to stand a soldier next to another soldier a yard or two apart. This is Juan Cordova with BSNNN."
