Nouakchott
The MV Yellowhead Trail has been damaged by Mortar attacks from one of the groups in the Arafat area, the crew are shaken but the ship remains in the harbor until all the UIN staff are onboard so they can get out of the port, but outside its utter chaos as UIN staff and Canadian army personal scattered as they get away from the mortar blasts, though 70 people where killed when one of the mortar shells landed at the over crowded docks, the RCN cannot engage in counter battery operations as its risky due to civilian presence in the area, this kind of tactics and behavior of these terror groups has frustrated Canadian strategists since the failed mission in Venezuela, the Canadian Military is trying to find simple solutions to this problem fast if they are to succeed in this mission, though without the ROD's advice this might take awhile.

Nouakchott.
After three days of heavy fighting in the Ksar area, the Brown Trousers made an advance of several blocks today.
The break out came after a morning of mortar and RPG fire had pounded the other groups in the area
Heavy use was made of ATGW's against snipers and hard points.
Then a surprise rush with an armoured bulldozer and T--55's broke into the center.

These shanty towns blocks need paint and detail. The Tan colour is a bit more sandy in normal light.

Gun trucks, RPG mobile, Stinger Sid and his mate on a bike etc.

Nouakchott, Mauritania
As the first Battalions advanced, one on each side of Hwy 14, 3 companies of Merkava 1 and 1 of Centurion APC on the left flank, Task Force Larry, On the right flank, Task Force Sven, with 2 Companies of Merkava 1 and 2 companies of Centurion APCs advanced. As they approached the capital the two groups were coming across houses and clusters of homes. A few cases of small arms fire. Mostly white flags/sheets hanging from the roof or windows.
. A reporter was there taking pictures. He was identified, secured. Looking at his pictures, he had taken hundreds of photos of the equipment and soldiers even as he was by-passed. His camera was confiscated and destroyed with a rifle then thrown into a fire with all his memory cards. He was allowed to keep his two other lens in the bag, but not his battery pack.

Getting closer to Nouakchott, a few ATGMs were fired, Milan ATGM were detected, laser guided. These were from the CoC base/arsenal just south of Nouakchott. AMX-30, AMX-10P, AMX-13 along with jeeps and other trucks and soft skin vehicles. Much of the fuel stores were burned as the support staff flew out in a couple of UH-1 Hueys a week ago. Eight ammo magazines were destroyed, which was confirmed. At least 4 if not 8 are intact, some containing 105mm ammo, 20mm, 76mm and 90mm ammo along with small arms ammo. The destruction of some of the Milan rounds and launchers are confirmed to not being destroyed. Some were in the magazines that were destroyed.

the MV Yellowhead has exited out of the port carrying all the UIN staff and any escaping civilians and its bound to Yer bouti, Maple Leaf Landing has since closed its gates to protect it from the gangs that are in the city.

In Arafat the Canadian Army has engaged in a firefight with a large group of Spindizzys in the northern parts of the area, they brought along there stolen heavy armor in the form of 2 T55s, and one ex CofC Merkava 1 tank, the Merkava blasted a Leopard 2 right in the turret blowing it off completely while the Spindizzys heavy weapons mowed down the infantry who are ducking to cover, but the Canadians returned fire, the Sherman Badgers flame throwers showered the Spindizzys group in the flammable material as they run away to avoid the flames burning most of them, one of the T55s got turned into a raging fireball which cooked off the ammo stored in it and exploding to pieces, the firefight last more then 1 hour before the Spindizzys retreated, the Canadians have gained some ground in Arafat, and will establish a military checkpoint there.

Atlantic Ocean,
MV Yellowhead a mile out heading west at speed. A battery of 122mm and 130/152mm howitzers opened fire. 4 rounds of 122mm hit or air burst the MV Yellowhead and 3 rounds from the larger guns hit. Total of 93 rounds were fired from the two batteries, one north of the port and 130/152mm battery south of the port. Able to fire for about 7 minutes total, the 130mm guns were able to fire for another 2 minutes til the ship was out of range. There was smoke rising from a few places after seeing explosions on the ship. The phalanx gun systems where both firing hitting a total of 6 incoming rounds, which saved the ship from more hits, which could have been devastating. The ship is also taking on water.
.
Reports have circulated among the battlegroups east of Nouakchott that a few companies of Pumas (German manufactured AIFV) have arrived. They were sent with the heavy armor package. It is assumed that the armor, the 30mm main gun and being able to carry an infantry squad are the reasons for adding these type of units to the assault mix.

The Northern battery of 122mm guns is watched by an old man selling figs from the back of his a**....donkey.
As they run out of range of the MV Yellowhead the three D30's are quickly limbered up and are driven 5 km inland.
The progress to the separate hiding spots is confirmed by eyes on the ground. The cell phone call up the chain of command stating ammo used and request for a better range finder is recorded.

Maple Leaf Landing
(Canadian army commamder): "DANM IT!!! (Flips over table violently spilling maps and reports on the floor), I thought we had these Rebels on the ropes and this happens? We lost a *Censored* transport to a surprise attack by those *Censored* rebels??? Ugh how do those blasted Spotted dogs deal with these people? Get another Armored Column set up and head to the north part of the city, we got to shut those *Censored* guns up before the next transport arrives".

The second Armored column is quickly set up and heads north.

The ROD does not have an official position on Mauritania. It doesn't directly affect us, and the international community has already responded with military force.

T. Zenia area
the second Canadian armored column has arrived to the area to secure the northern side and destroy the group that sank the MV Yellowhead as she was trying to sail to Yer Bouti with UIN Staff onboard the Canadian army has since set up a outpost on the beach overlooking the T. Zenia area in order to prevent another transport from sinking.

Atlantic Ocean
The RCN fleet has conducted a search and rescue mission for survivors from the sinking of the MV Yellowhead, in all only 45 out of the 800 UIN staff survived the sinking the entire crew of 12 from the ship including the captain escaped the sinking in a lifeboat.

The Canadians moving up the coastal road find little resistance to the West of T.Zeina. Al Kabab melts away with their equipment long before they can be fired upon.
The main road from the Western hospital running North is unusable, blocked and probably mined. East of this road marks the front line to the "martyrs du pantalon en velours côtelé brun" area and should be considered a no go zone for the Canadians.
The Brown Trousers hold 100% of T.Zeina and almost 80% of Ksar but house to house fighting continues.
Many losses have been taken and they intend to defend their part of the city against all comers.

North of the city in the open countryside small hit and run actions have taken place by most factions with no one really coming out ahead to date.
The "martyrs du pantalon en velours côtelé brun" seem to be receiving some material support overland from Yer Bouti. In return YB seems to be getting a better picture of the local situation and a little influence.

Just North of town a farm building is being watched. It is just one part of a puzzle.
A green car pulls up to the farm, another part falls in to place.

The Arttilery attack came from the northern end of the city, I'm sure the brown trousers will not interfere with our mission on the beach as the next transport MV Anthony Hendey is due to arrive tommrow. We cannot allow another transport to be sunk by militant arttilery, it's vitle that we keep this supply route is open and safe.

Farm just North of Nouakchott.

First light.
Image

A young driver/guard goes for a smoke. He turns on his mobile phone to see if he has a text from his new wife. No new text, he turns it off.

350 Kms North in Yer Bouti.
Guards of the Bouti Homeland Ops center. "we have a ping on one of the phones boss".
"Which site, which phone?" the operator taps away on the keyboard.
"Must be site #2, one of the drivers with phone D4".
The Commander thinks for about ten long seconds "Are you sure about site #2"
"Yes boss, 100% site #2, we have DF from the low burst radio 4 hours ago, the green car, Nimrods jeep is there and now the phone from one of the Diamond team. The nearest Canadians are about 4 Kms from there".
"Well, lets wake everyone up, stand to OP Porto"
