Back in Mahishmati, the last battalion of Tank Regiment Diablo redeployed to home station. The Eurasian Empire maintains a modest force of border guards near Mahishmati's eastern border. ROD forces have pulled back from the border while construction continues on permanent facilities for them.

ROD intelligence indicates that the Empire is not an immediate threat to Mahishmati at the moment. We estimate that it would take them several weeks to build forces back up in sufficient strength to be a threat. UIN peacekeepers may want to reevaluate their mission in Mahishmati, but the ROD has no objection to any of them staying.

Hoplite SOP is to conduct survivability moves as a matter of routine. Pictured here are mobile cyber ops and EW platforms displacing with gun trucks for escort.

The Ministry of Defense announced this morning that the ROD has reached an agreement with Germany for the permanent basing of ROD troops in Bavaria. In a joint statement, German and ROD defense officials confirmed that the ROD 7th Armored Brigade would be occupying bases in Schweinfurt that were once home to a US Army brigade combat team. Under the agreement, the two military installations in Schweinfurt would be leased by the ROD, along with nearby housing areas, schools, and recreational facilities that were once home to US Army units.

Ledward Barracks and Conn Barracks were most recently home to the US Army’s 1st Infantry Division (2nd Brigade Combat Team and DIVCAV Squadron). These bases will be expanded under the agreement, absorbing surrounding farmland, but not affecting any permanent homes or structures. The facilities will be renamed, but the new names have not yet been decided.

Several countries had expressed an interest in a permanent ROD presence, but Germany was selected due to its central location in Europe, existing facilities, and infrastructure to facilitate deployments. Neighboring countries and NATO welcome the addition of an ROD heavy brigade to Europe, citing increased tension with both Russia and the Eurasian Union. The ROD will not be joining NATO, but will be working closely with them on matters of European defense.

This morning HHC 7th Armored Brigade had its vehicles and baggage inspected for the long transit to their new home in Schweinfurt, Germany. Vehicles and shipping containers must pass a stringent inspection before being loaded on a ship bound for Antwerp, Belgium. From the port of Antwerp the vehicles and containers will be moved by rail to Schweinfurt and the railhead at ROD Reiter Kaserne (formerly known as Conn Barracks).

ROD personnel will fly into Nurnberg and then bus to Schweinfurt.

This is the first of many movements that the 7th Armored Brigade will undertake in the coming weeks. After the HHC, the ROD will move 1 tank battalion, two mech infantry battalions, an artillery battalion, a forward support battalion, and several additional companies (BRT, Engineers, air defense) in a similar fashion.

Pictured here are HHC vehicles arriving at the port.

The Canadian Military official stationed in Mauritania has made a phone call to the ROD to ask for advice on how to properly deal with the Militants in the capital following the loss of a whole armored column in the T.zeina area. I know Canada and ROD are not on friendly terms right now, but the Canadian Military is having a difficult time fighting in a urban environment.

The ROD recommends going back to the basics for Canada.

Have a mission.
At the operational level have a mission and stick to it. Why are you in Mauritania? To hunt Al Kabab? To establish peace? Who do you want to be in control once peace is restored? To claim it for Canada? Only after you know what you want to accomplish and who you are fighting and why can you decide what assets you need. If you are trying to rebuild a neighborhood don’t blow it up with artillery. If you want to beat someone into submission, then do it convincingly. Don’t bring flamethrowers into a town if you want to build trust with the presidents.

At the tactical level have a mission and stick to it. Why are you leaving your base? To go kill someone? To see what exploded? Presence patrol? Decide what your mission is and then proceed with the assets that you need. If you’re operating from a base, you should never have an M577 out on the streets. Take what you need and have a QRF on standby in case they get into trouble (Quick Reaction Force). Never rush to failure – think about what you are doing before you rush headlong out the gate.

Have a chain of command.
This is the military – you have a chain of command from the highest commander all the way down to the lowliest rifleman. If the commander is killed, the next dude in the chain of command takes over. There is no questioning who is in command there is no deliberation. The new commander drives on with the mission or he makes adjustments. No one should ever panic in the absence of orders.

Train your troops.
Get your troops in shape – mentally and physically. Challenge them through training and instill the will to win in them. I suspect that morale will be low if they run away every time they take a casualty. Teach them to want to fight – focus on who you want them to kill, not whether they are working with the CoC or not. Teach them to shoot, to stab, to punch and kick. Teach them to think on their feet.

Shoot, move, and communicate.
When you get into a fight, remember to keep doing these three things. Keep doing them until the fight is over.

IF the "loneliest rifleman" saved your damned command, I'd be surprised if the senior commanders would object. As it was, you handed it to the greenest officer, which was a cowardly thing to do, BY ELECTION, no less. EVERYBODY in the party should know at what point HE is the one who is in charge. In the armed services, you look around at what's happening. IF nobody else is in charge, YOU are. Whether you are a general or a private, continue the mission. Just do SOMETHING! PANIC was the best you came up with, for Pete's sake. THAT just gets everybody killed.

Now, RE-READ what ROD KINDLY offered as advice and figure out what you misunderstood. He has a lot more patience than I do.

Then the top brass in the Canadian Military is retarded. You follow the chain of command. If the captain is killed the lieutenant takes over, then the first sergeant, then the platoon sergeant, etc. The lowest private may be the guy that can save the unit and affect the battle, but if you don't train him to do that or you keep him in the dark he will be useless. What happened to Canada?
