Fuso differed from Yamashiro in several details after their 1930s refits. Among other things, when Fuso was rebuilt it had only one funnel (Yamashiro had two). Because of that, and some additions around the remaining funnel, Fuso's midships turret ("P" turret?) was oriented to face forward in the rest position, while Yamashiro's "P" turret faced aft. Siegfried Breyer's book, for example, shows these differences. It was kinda like the differences that the Kongos exhibited after their refits (although not identical).

It looks like GHQ is finally beginning to produce the UK. war-built DDs. Unfortunately, I brought and camouflage painted the CinC versions many years ago, and am not up to redoing new ones (as they come out). My WWII buys will be the Fuso and CVE-1 (only two ships, although I've still got to order Idaho). WWI is a bit better; probably only one U.K. DD pack (I'm pretty much only buying for Jutland), but 4 Reginas and 2 San Giorgios (& whatever that fourth ship is). Doesn't look like anything on the new list is on my "12 most wanted" list.

Whups! The ship I coudn't remember is the Black Swan. I suppose I'll get a few, although I've never been interested enough in them to look them up. (Heck! I've still got some Flowers to paint, and they've been around the house for so long that they're getting moldy.)

I'm actually glad that the Fiat 626 is the only item on the list that I am interested in. I have so much on the workbench that this will give me a year to catch up. I'm looking forward to the Gabbiano corvettes next year.

Really good list for me - lots of stuff I want (need?). Key item is the UK current infantry support weapons as this unlocks a modern UK force and I can buy all that nice new British stuff.

The other thing I find really encouraging is that there's clear evidence that GHQ had been reading our wish list thread and it seems to have been reflected in the list. We do love it when GHQ does that!

And YAY! Finally got me some ASLAV troop carriers!

My one sole gripe is the lack of infantry - don't get me wrong I am VERY happy to see the modern Brit weapons (here's hoping we get some Carl Gustavs, we SORELY need them!) but I was genuinely hoping we'd see Cold War Commonwealth troops for those of us looking to do Team Yankee Brits. Oh well, such is as it is!

A towed western AAA like the GDF-005 Skyguard would have been a nice inclusion - I'll just have to keep bugging for both for the 2020 release cycle then

A lot of great choices there, especially for modern/cold war US Marines airpower. Good to see you expanding the number of countries you are covering with tanks from Pakistan and Iran as well as more Chinese and Japanese vehicles.

Personal Opinion of 2019-2020 Micronaut Releases

This year, GHQ’s schedule for 1/2400 Micronauts offers a pretty good selection. It’s great to see another dozen ship models. Personally, it’s not as good as last year for me. None of the dozen types are from my personal wish list. However, six of the items will be on my shopping list as soon as they are released. With respect to the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, two of the twelve ships were in the top four vote-getters and four others were in the top 100.

Here are some personal comments on the individual 2019-2020 Micronauts, beginning with what I consider best for me:

IJN60 WWII Japan battleship Fuso-class. I am going to assume the “classâ€￾ reference is erroneous and that the model is that of a late-war Fuso, as at Suriago Strait. The (originally) sister ship Yamashiro had a significantly different appearance after 1935 and has already been produced by GHQ. Fuso had 32 votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 16th place. I will certainly get one.

UKN (57 or 58) WWII UK sloop Black Swan-class, unmodified. These were very good anti-aircraft escorts with adequate anti-submarine capability. Although GHQ specifies the unmodified version, of which only four were built, the modified Black Swan version, with 25 hulls, differed only in increased beam and details of the light AA. It had 40 votes (alone in 4th place) on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List. I will certainly get two packs to model the original four. Since it’s unlikely that there will be a separate model for the modified Black Swans, I’ll probably get eight more packs.

UKN (58 or 57) WWII UK destroyer “Oâ€￾-class with 4.7-inch guns. This was a bit of a surprise to me for two reasons. First, the war-emergency classes have already been covered by relatively good models from CinC. Secondly, only four of the “Oâ€￾-class had 4.7-inch guns. The other four “Oâ€￾-class and the eight “Pâ€￾-class had 4-inch HA guns. Despite this, I will probably get three packs to cover a hypothetical class of eight ships. This item had 41 votes (alone in 3rd place) on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List.

GWB38 WWI UK destroyer Laforey-class, with 2 funnels. This is another case in which GHQ selected a less-abundant item. Only six of the Laforey-class had two funnels while the remaining 24 had three funnels. On the good side, three of the six ships were engaged at Jutland. This item had 29 votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List (tied for 27th place). I will certainly order two packs but not another eight packs for the three-funnel versions.

GWT (05 or 06) WWI Italy battleship Regina Elena-class. This was a (relatively) fast and heavily armed pre-Dreadnought design, but not entering service until after Dreadnought. Although cautious policy prevented any significant combat during the Great War, they did fight against the Turks earlier. This class has five votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 514th place. Although I would have preferred the unique Dante Alighieri, I will certainly purchase four of this class.

GWT (06 or 05) WWI Italy armored cruiser San Giorgio-class. These two ships had a history similar to that of the Regina Elena-class battleships. This class had only four votes (tied for 869th place) on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List. I will certainly get two of these.

USN97 WWII USA aircraft carrier Long Island (CVE 1). I concentrate on surface warfare so I probably won’t be purchasing any aircraft carriers in the near future. This was the first of over one hundred escort aircraft carriers built by the US. This ship had 38 votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, in 8th place.

I’m not buying modern warships at this time so I won’t be getting any of the following. However, I hope GHQ does well with these. They all seem to be choices that will be popular with modern warship gamers and collectors.

HJN 8 post-Cold War Japan destroyer Asagiri (DD-151)-class. This class had 12 votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 152nd place.

HRC 11 post-Cold War China destroyer Type 055 (Renhai or Nanching-class). A modern and powerful type. This class had 7 votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 420th place.

HRN 9 post-Cold War UK aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth-class. The largest warships built in the UK. They had 17 votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 83rd place.

HSN 14 post-Cold War Russia frigate Admiral Gorshkov-class. A modern multi-role frigate with significant stealth properties. They had 10 votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 215th place.

HUS 25 post-Cold War USA amphibious assault ship America (LHA 6)-class. It seems that only two of the “Flight 0â€￾ version of this class, with no well decks, will be built. They had five votes on the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List, tied for 514th place

Actually, what I noticed is that with only 10 releases for WW2 (out of 35 total) there isn't much for anyone at all.
At least the Italians got a common truck, used by at least 3 different armies...
Last year, there were only 7 WW2 items as I recall. I'd have to look up the year before.

I do know I've had a lot more money for my other hobby lately.
At this point, the only thing I know I'll buy from this years release are the Italian trucks.
I considered the "Fuso", but as you pointed out it will most likely be late war- the only time it really saw combat (if you can call it that), and my modest ship collection is almost all very early (Pacific) war.
