The heavy squadrons will be pretty straight forward I think. A tank crew for them will be 4 dudes in a Leo 2, so the next question is how many tanks in a troop (I assume you are calling them troops instead of platoons?)
For the light squadrons, what exactly is their function? Are they going to close with and destroy the enemy using fire, maneuver, and shock effect? Or is their role to be more of a reconnaissance force? And are you intending to mix the different vehicle types in a single platoon?

4 tanks per troops is generally the standard for the west. I think it's a good size because then you can split the troop into two 2-tank sections if you want to.
If you want to use the light squadrons as reconnaissance you can go with troops of 6 vehicles each. That will give them the ability to cover more ground, splitting up into three 2-vehicle sections. And if they are going to be a recon force, you might want to think about a couple of dismounts for each vehicles so that you can have scouts get out and snoop around on foot.
This recon role leaves me wondering why you would have 2 light squadrons for recon and only 1 tank squadron to go in for the kill though.

OK so 4 tanks in a heavy troop. Are you going to follow the 14-tank squadron model and have each heavy squadron with 3 troops (4 tanks each) plus a HQ troop with 2 additional tanks - one for the CO and one for the XO. That would give you 14 tanks in each heavy squadron. Then you would have a few NCOs for the HQ and support element, plus a few light wheeled vehicles.

Hey, Guys, watch your math. If you want a 14-tank squadron with 4 troops, you get three tanks per troop. That is common in Brit formations. If you want 4 tanks in 4 troops per squadron, you have to go to 18 tanks, also assuming you want 2 tanks in hq.
Brits have been known to have 4 tanks in a troop, but only use 3,and on occasion, also decide whether they wanted 3-tank platoons or 4-tank platoons. Brit formations have USUALLY features 18 tanks per squadron. Of late, they have gone down to 14. This all depends on at what point in the last forty years you pick your organization model, assuming the Canadians take their cue from the cousins in UK.

Karma, about your only chance is establishing the rule that an image-nation sponsor must physically own the pieces he uses on the "board.". GHQ isn't going to embargo a paying customer. Cof C and the UIN can sanction him, but you know what that's worth. And the ownership rule still depends on the honor of the members.
I like the ownership rule, myself, even with its limitations. The drawback is it limits participation, to a degree, but it also limits the ridiculous.
Of course, if your landmass is limited, that, too, will limit your forces. Maybe you should move to a bigger island.
Personally, I feel the imagin-ation environment is best suited for limited action rather than general war and efforts to up the ante should be discouraged.

I agree with you, PG, in regard to actually having the micro armor that your imagi-nation claims. As I mentioned on the 23rd on this thread, i think we're all OK with not having every single vehicle for a unit, but you need to have at least a part of it. I also think that we should be posting pics of our imagi-nation activities, like Mick does with the Karma-Naskis. This is a micro armor forum after all and not a creative writing forum.
If we collectively decide that we want to create some rules and structure for the imagi-nation world I'm Ok with it and I will contribute and comply. I have some ideas for rules or guidelines, and we can even create another website to support it if we want to.
I don't think anyone has anything to worry about from New Canada at the moment. The ROD is trying to help them document the units that they have now. Knowing what you have and how to use it will, i think, increase New Canada's discipline. Rather than New Canada deploying "10,000 infantrymen", which leads to a mob mentality, they will deploy "a light infantry battalion" which they understand more fully. At least that is the goal.

There are no MBTs present at the Land border with Karma-naskis, only RCMP and Canadian Border Services at this time.
Anything dealing with how the New Canadian Military is organized and administrated, please refer to the Members of the Canadian Armed Forces Council in Ottawa.
the ROD had been a great help with our forces.

Canadian Armed Forces HQ, Ottawa
(Knock on the Office door)
(Chief of the Defense Staff): "Come"
(General Thornton and Major Kerr Walks in)
(Chief of Defense Staff): "Ah Thornton, Kerr, please come in and take a seat."
(General Thornton): "Sir"
(Chief of the Defense Staff): "So It looks like the RODs help is making a difference in our forces"
(Major Kerr): "Indeed, Though it looks like its causing Issues with our... island neighbor Sir."
(Chief of the Defense Staff): "Karma-naskis? What could those Reefer people be so worried about?"
(General Thornton): "Well sir, it seems that they are worried about the possibility of having our Leapord 2s on the Island."
(Chief of the Defense Staff): "Tosh, those islanders have nothing to worry about, we have no plans of sending in any Armored Regiments to our side of Vancouver Island, our focus is on modernizing the New Canadian military, besides these islanders hardly have much of a military anyway, though those "Stealth Corvettes" that they have in their fleet is a subject of concern to the officers of the Royal Canadian Navy, but its for the best if we keep our distance at all times to avoid any troubles."
(General Thornton): "Indeed sir."
(Chief of the Defense Staff): "Though it would be wise to keep an eye on them in case if they do something to cause... Interference."

OK back to work!
So if you're good with 14 tanks and 65 soldiers in a heavy armor squadron we can move onto the light squadron.
You mentioned 6 vehicles for the light squadrons. Are you intending to use one type of vehicle for all light squadrons, or will some regiments use one type, and other regiments use another?
If your goal is to use the light squadrons for an armored reconnaissance force, perhaps 6 vehicles per troop will suite your needs.
