The Unmarked soldiers miffed by the using the wrong pattern decides to find one of the informants in Raqqah to hopefully get the 40th Battalion and the DIS teams to show up to meet them.

At an unsanitary coffee shop and hookah lounge in Raqqah, the Old Canadians find a man named Kamel who says that he knows the ROD operators, but getting a message to them is a dangerous journey. For a very reasonable fee (200 US dollars and a digital camera) Kamel will take your message to the ROD commander, if he is still in the country.

Kamel takes a selfie and then tells the Old Canadians to return to the coffee shop every night at 9pm local time. Once Kamel finds the ROD commander and delivers your request for a meeting, a candle will be placed on the kitchen window sill. If the ROD commander agrees to meet with you, the candle will be lit. If he declines, the candle will be flame-less.

Heard a rumor that the Old Canadians referenced are a case of blended whiskey.

Kamel also wishes that the Old Canadians were whiskey!

The next night there is no sign at the coffee shop, but the second night finds a single unlit candle on the kitchen window sill.

The 40th Battalion must have found out about the CSOR's AL-Kabab benefactors who supplied the rouge unit funds and equipment to carry out the attacks on the CofC and New Canadian forces in Syria, and quickly leaves Raqqah to return to Special Ops Command in AL-Kabab held territory.

The ROD troops were in Syria to evacuate their assets and deal with the Syrian/Kurdish/Turkish situation, but since the scenario has evolved into an Al Kabob hunting mission there really isn't much there to hold the ROD's interest. It was only C Company from the 40th battalion, plus 2 DIS teams. Now that our people, including Kamel, are out of the country we are turning our attention elsewhere.

On the third night there are two candles, one lit, one unlit.

Hey PanzerGator, have you every heard of the Tank Biathlon? I have never heard of it before today, but it sounds pretty cool. Check out these websites:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tank_biathlon
http://armygames2019.mil.ru/tank_biathlon_en
https://tanksdriving.com/tank-biathlon/

I know that the Gator State does not interact with other Imagi-Nations very often, but would you like to put your best tank platoon up against an ROD tank platoon in a tank biathlon? We would be agreeable to either M1s or M60s if you’re game.

[GM’s Note: We can use playing cards to determine winners with the help of a referee since we can’t really roll any dice]

While the idea is fascinating, participation means providing a form of intelligence in skill levels and weaknesses to potential opponents. The Gator State prefers to surprise its opponents. Thank you for the offer, but we must decline.

New Canada would be interested in sending the Royal Canadian Dragoons to participate in the Tank Biathlon.

ROD carrier Armageddon
The CF-14s that landed on the ship, thanked the carrier and took off in their flight towards CFB Lahar in Germany.

HMCS Canada in a change of course has arrived in CFB Halifax instead for repair work after that accidental explosion days earlier.

In the ROD, all military personnel are expected to spit-shine their boots and low quarters.

Just sayin.
