Hi all, it's been a long time since I posted some of my stuff. I hadn't actually painted much between my living room flood that still hasn't been fixed (thanks lockdown) and my need for eye surgery. With the lockdown, I've now painted most of my prevoiusly prepped armor. This week I'm going to prep the last of the tanks to keep going. With all that said, I hope these photos look ok, here's the first 3 weeks of lockdown painting done.

early sculpt of T-72 without the side skirts and D-30 122mm Howitsers, although the travel version loooks like the gun is in the wrong position.

odd group of old sculpts left. I think they're T-55A on left and T-54 on the right The minis don't match the newer sculpts and a coulple have been modified by their first owner

Edit: wow seeing pics blown up here the paint jobs don't look as good as in real life but oddly my photography seems better with bad vision.

All looking good, Mr. G!

Need some eye surgery myself. I know how it goes.

Actually finished the Mechanized Recon Company Friday night, but was not able to post pictures until today. They are under the US Army tab and are all by GHQ. Finally have M901s with the hammerheads on correctly.

Nice Guroburov! Thanks for posting.

Your vehicles look great!

Quite the battles you are fighting! I hear having a pond in your living room is IN these days! Hehe And you could not find a better area to work on than your eye when dealing with 1/285 models! Lol I find myself going crossed eyed when detailing these guys.

Always liked the T-72s! Are the vehicles a single base color? Did you add any highlights? Or is that the way the light is coming into the room from behind you?

Cool looking AFVs for sure. I struggle with that as well sometimes. When I am working with my older molds or if I picked up vehicles from someone else that are older. They just do not have the same level of detail the newer molds have. You just do what you can and move forward.

Haha Photography… Same here… I will look at a model and think, oh yeah, nailed it! Take a picture and zoom in on the vehicle and think… oh my… Im deleting that! Lol

Well done!

Thanks for the comments Panzergator and PolishGI. All the vehicles are painted with Reaper paints. I use the olive shadow base highlighted with Olive drab and finally a highlight for the top edges. As you say Polish, the lighting seems to be drowning out the highlights. VIsion wise I just struggle to read mostly and have magnifiers for painting. With the restrictions lightening I'll hopefully be back at work soon (-ish) and get to schedule the eye surgery. Then I'll go nuts after I recover and can actually see how bad it all is.

Cav - BMPs came out great - love the camo and the road wheels

Gub - great looking pieces, your paint job really got the coloring right in my opinion. You can see all the great GHQ detail through your painting which is so cool.

Hoth - The twisted thing about tires is that I don’t really relish doing them, and I just recently started painting the road wheels within the treads which adds like another 600 little wheels to paint in a pack ha ha - i usually don’t do a tidy job with those road wheels and so then it’s another couple rounds of fixing and detailing and fixing and so on. It’s a downward spiral for me I think haha

BurtWolf,

Its maniacal.. I paint the road wheels on the tanks as well. I have a huge backlog of those as well. Every since I started painting, since the start of the work from home 6 weeks ago, its been nothing but tires.. But a larger backlog of tank wheels still wait for me.
Quantity has a Quality all its own.

G, glad you are back. Good looking bad guys.
Are you ready for PROG to be attacked?

GHQ Hummvs, Ratel 20, and Toyota pickup.
Closed in on a suspected bad guy.

Have some more work on the pickup, black wash it, steel-gray the roll bar and front grill.

I was shocked to discover that the VBCI comes with tiny little working smoke grenade launchers.
