RPNW forces were delayed in the assembly area. The confusion created by the Mindanaodom faint cause confusion and the RPNW wasted valuable time trying to determine the direction of the actual counter attack.

The RPNW command post began issuing orders.

The scouts were sent out in small teams, to determine where the enemy was.

Once the enemy was located, the LAR mortars went into action. Distracting the Mindanaodom forces from the armor fist that would soon come crashing down.

RPNW armor race across open country, into the flank o the OPFOR positions.

At last the RPNW armor began to fire on the enemy.

The RPNW took heavy casualties, but delayed them enough for the ROD artillery and units to get set.

PRNW in the attack

M60A3 lead the way for the ROD Marines

Scouts out, watching the flank

The attackers left armor flank

The attackers need their logistics

The Mindanao defenders trying to push around the Dragon Teeth that was there to defend against the Japanese in WW2, plan of MacArthur.

The ROD Marines conduct an airborne assault, surprising a farmer going to check out his field. He needs new pants.

In defense, M36 Jackson’s with 90mm guns.

Here they come, get ready.

Counter attack on the defenders right flank

PRNW better have brought along som engineers.... opps, they didn’t.

What a great exercise! 1st MEU was expecting the Mindanaodom Marines to make us work for our money and they definitely didn't disappoint! many great lessons to be learned over the pat few days!
Reluctantly, the referees call ENDEX and the Marines transition into the live fire portion of the exercise, burning those ranges up through the day and night until 1st MEU has to depart tomorrow.

Now that the war in Ukraine and the Black Sea has ended, 1st MEU will be returning to original mission. It was great to have the MEU change mission and respond to the crisis though - that's what MEUs are for!
The ships are making port in Tel Aviv today for a short visit and then the MEU will head back toward the Pacific with a modified deployment schedule.

1st MEU is making another port of call this morning in Kuala Lumpur. The Sailors and Marines will have 2 days to see the sights in this beautiful city before heading back out to sea to prep for another exercise.
Pictured here are LST-24 RODS Patroclus, LHD-28 RODS Perseus, and LSD-31 RODS Menelaus preparing to enter the port.
