(Radioman): "Captain we got a message from CFS Alert, CP-140 spotted a sub trying to enter Hudsons Bay via the Hudson Striats, recommend Docking HMCS Canada at the port of St Johns until situation is under control."

(Captain): "All hands prepare for a emergency stop at the port of St Johns, a sub has been detected trying to enter Husdons bay, Crews to battle stations."
The Canadas Sea Sparrows and Phalanx CIWS's became active. The carrier made a hard left and quickly steamed to the port of St Johns Newfoundland to safe harbor. the Sub Atlantic Cod will patrol the ports enterence. CF-18s and CP-140s from CFB St Johns and RCAF station Iqaluit took off to intercept any more subs that are trying to enter the Bay from the North and from the Hudson Strait. Hopefully our alerted status will scare the subs away.

The 1st Carrier Air Wing is scrambling whatever sober CF-18 pilots we have to take off from the carrier immediately, looks like they gonna have to start their exercises a little early.

The subs must have mistaken some random Supertanker in the Hudsons bay for our carrier.

Doesn't your air wing have ASW capability? I know you were flying S-2s before. Instead of running away from a threat why don't you launch your ASW aircraft to do what they're designed to do?

Redleg, All of our Aircraft including the CS-2 Trackers where still inside the Hanger Deck being worked on for Fridays exercise before word of the subs presence in the Hudson strait came out. We did managed to scramble 4 CF-18s before our emergency stop at St Johns. I was more concerned about the safety of the super carrier as shes brand new and this is her first time out since we acquired this JFK carrier from the US navy's Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility in Philadelphia.

(CP-140 Radioman): "HMCS Canada, this is Maritime patrol, I think the subs have left the Arctic and Hudson Straits but will keep you posted, stay in the port of St Johns until we can confirm they are heading home."

(Canada's Radioman): "Understood Canada out."

Meanwhile in the Hanger Deck the crews are scrambling to get the CS-2 Trackers and the rest of the aircraft up to the Flight Deck as soon as possible in preparation to take off once the all clear signal is given by the Maritime patrol squadrons for the carrier to head out again.

East of Hudson Strait
U-214 is being pinged by a ship, it’s believed that the FFG has had successful detections. That is why it is heading east, now 11.5 NM outside the entrance of the strait, to be international waters within minutes.
Barracuda more stealthy was tracking the FFG pass by following the U-214. Firing solutions entered, re-entered repeatedly in the exercise. Followed the FFG out riding under a cargo ship heading to sea. The Barracuda did detect some dumping in the channel and in NC waters.
. In the northern approaches a 688 detected aircraft and NC ships for two days at distances, several from satellite feed, it headed into the Arctic Circle. A Sturgeon did the same. NC responded quickly enough in a peacetime operation.

(CP-140 Radioman):"All Clear HMCS Canada, The subs are gone, I repeat the subs are gone, I think they where just toying with us, your clear to proceed to Hudsons Bay now."
(Canada's Radioman):"Copy that head out now" (turns radio off) "Man that was a close call."
(Captain):"Indeed cancel battle stations and stow the aircraft away, lets recover the 4 CF-18s from CFB St Johns, and continue on our way to Hudsons Bay we are behind schedule."

HMCS Canada has since left port to allow the 4 RCN CF-18s who landed in CFB St Johns to take off and return to the Carrier, with all her aircraft now safely stowed back in the Hanger Deck, the Pilots returned back to the Jets and Anchors Pub for some beer and whiskey and to figure out just who the hell was responsible for this submarine scare?

(CF-18 Pilot): "Danm't that was a huge scare, we where having a good time until this happened, anyone got a clue as to who did it?"
(CS-2 Pilot): "Pirobly Those (Burp) blashed... JreenlundDumbs, tri'n to (Burp) rek our suprcurriar...out of. jeloosey." (passes out on the pub table and a couple of bottles hit the floor.)
(CF-18 Pilot #2): "Well whatever it was, its gone now, thank gosh, I was getting a little shaky there on the control of my CF-18, and long before our carrier operations exercise no less. but the Tracker pilot maybe right, it could be Greenlanddom as they are close by to us, my guess is we where their intended target."

Greenlanddom
Two submarines returned to port, U-214 and the SS Barracuda (AIP). Uploading data to the network on things learned. Unfortunately, we were unable to get any update noise data on the NC CV. Two of the three submarines that were in the NC Northern Approaches are returning to port in Greenlanddom.
One conclusion from the evaluation of the NC frigates and corvettes is they did seem a bit timid, although they did demonstrate a through tactical prosecution. The Barracuda did sneak by the group without being detected in the strait. Contributing factors identified: new/inexperienced commander, certainly not expecting the incursions, heavy traffic in the straits, timidity from their fleet being smacked in the Black Sea War, equipment isn’t sufficient, the sub crew was excellent, the sub is new with stealth coating, and it is small and very quiet.
As the CoC Navy evaluates our performances the RNC Navy is doing the same. The only crew on board the ship that knew were the weapon officers to protect all involved in the exercises.

Off the coast of Labrador.
On the Flight Deck of HMCS Canada, the ships crew has finished setting up a makeshift hockey rink for a upcoming Ball Hockey game between the Flight Deck crew and the Hanger Crew. they raised the ships Jet Bast deflectors to use as a wind break to keep some of the wind off the rink during game play.

The game starts now with the 1st period as the Fuel handler from the Flight Deck team wins the face off and passes the ball to the Ordnance handler who runs down to the Hanger Crews net, passes to one of the Catapult Crewmen, he shoots..He scores!!! The crew watching the game goes wild, 1-0 Flight Deck, both teams return to the centre of the rink for another face off, this time its the hanger crew that one the face off, one of the Aviation technicians bumps aginest a arresting gear crewman, and a fight broke out. both send out a good right and a left hooks trying to knock one down to the floor, but the Oxygen Handler (acting as a referee) breaks the two off and sends both of them to the penalty box, 5 mins for fighting.

Briefing Room HMCS Canada.
With the deadline for the Carrier Operations starting tomorrow in Hudsons Bay, All pilots from the No 1 Carrier Air Wing heads up to the Briefing room to discuss the details on how this excessive will proceed.

1. Take Off and Landing.
All pilots from the Carrier Air Wing will learn the basics of landing and take off from the deck of HMCS Canada in a real aircraft in order to hone their skills.

2. Simulated Air Attack.
In this course all the CF-18 Pilots will take part in a simulated scenario where the supercarrier comes underattack from enemy aircraft. 12 CF-86s, 4 CF-5s and 5 DC-6's from a Air training company will be used for this course, the goal is to intercept the enemy aircraft before they reach the carrier.

3. Simulated Submarine attack.
In this course the CS-2 Trackers and Seaking helicopters will take off to began a simulated submarine hunt in the bay, 3 Oberon class subs will be used in this scenario, the goal is to use their ASW equipment to find and hunt down the subs before they can get within range of the Carrier.

4. Anti ship Attack.
In this course the CF-18s will take off with live ammo to sink a series of old cargo ship hulks saved from a scrapping facility, these ships will proxy for various types of warships, the goal is to sink these vessels using the Harpoon Missiles fitted to the CF-18s, use extreme caution on this course, but try to complete in the fastest time possible.

5. Night operations
These same 4 courses, will be carried out in the dark so the pilots can learn to use their radar to track enemy targets better.

That will be all dismissed.

Due to a heavy rain storm that has hit Hudson’s Bay, the simulated Air Attack will be postponed until the storm passes, all Aircraft will be stowed in the Hanger Deck for now on.

How many planes are you carrying currently?
Are you worried or concerned that the planes may begin to rust because of the rain?

Full compliment of 80 aircraft. But we stowed them all in the Hanger Deck to shelter them from the heavy rain. the Storm will clear up today.
