When it was over we did a friendly visit to 3rd bde 9th ID HQ before they went home. Of course when they saw me they understood what happened! No bad feelings on anyone's part, just a lot of head shaking and wonderment of how the Army could transfer someone between HQ's just before an exercise like this. It wasn't anyone's "fault", really, at least, probably not. I don't think the Personnel Gods who arrange these things consciously plan where each person goes.

After all, just before I left Korea, my replacement arrived. He spoke fluent Serbo-Croation, so of course the Army sent him to the one unit least likely to deploy there.

The new K9 Thunder model is up with a photo.
Big and impressive and just the 4 to a pack which was not a surprise to me.
