Motivation. Ugh.

I play some Retro Video games in my house.

As for painting models for me, its more of getting around to ordering models online from ether GHQ, and probably Legion IV hire, as unfortunately none of the hobby stores in my home town carry historical games. and that sucks.

You would think a place like Kansas City would have a hobby store that carried GHQ, but nope. Besides, I have gotten so I prefer ordering direct. I can get what I'm looking for in a reasonable amount of time.

Thats True Panzer, through US shipping rates in Canadian dollars can pose a bit of a problem, as it tends to cost more then the models itself. But I had some luck in the past, though It honestly would be awesome to have a least a more competent hobby shop in town that actually cares for the miniature hobby as a whole and not focus too much on one or two games. or in my case focus too much on Comic books and Poutine.

I have not ordered any from the UK yet, but I did notice that Seawulf does have modern RCN ships.

Would ordering GHQ through a local hobby shop work better? I haven't had to order out-of-country in 25 years.

That would depend if the local hobby shop in question can actually "find" GHQ stuff through official distributors to order it from.

Hey Cama, sometimes I just need to change things up a bit to keep it fresh. If I find myself painting a lot and its turning into a chore I put the paints away and play some games. Or I put the lead away altogether and I do other related activities like putting my unit TO&E together into a spreadsheet, or I look into new rule sets and try to come up with new scenarios for future gaming. Sometimes I change up the entire genre and get the sci-fi gaming out. After a short break I usually find the micro armor back on the work bench.

I've been having a hard time painting as well. Mostly stress from working retail in a pandemic. I promised the finance Czarina I wouldn't buy new toys until I finished the current batch, which you'd think would help motivate me but it didn't. I can paint if I start painting but sitting down there is tough. It's a wall I need to tackle.

I was tired of painting.so I moved to putting together a bunch trees. A couple hundred.
Far tooooo many for me, I ‘ll have to sell some. eBay, FB, etc.
A few months ago I put buildings on bases, then sand for the desert.

Normally, I read and do research. History, archeology, tanks, TOEs. Other ssubjects as well.

Except I don't game. How can you be interested in wargaming and miniatures without reading about its environment? The difficulty is spreading the money around among book, microarmor, and the logistics involved.

I try to get a game in as best as possible, but its rare to find people to play with who has the same interest as most people play 40k or Magic the Gathering.

With modern commo, you coukd play opponents over the internet like folks play chess, etc.

I’ve had a few slumps this year, and what I have found to be invigorating is watching other people’s videos on YouTube on various techniques as well as scenery tutorials. That usually piques my interest and I get to noodling around again.
But sometimes a good break is needed, it’s human nature.
